Journey to Generosity STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN BEGINS
A message from Fr. David

Tomorrow we'll kick off our annual Stewardship Campaign - Journey to Generosity.  This year will be no different than previous years. There are no catchy slogans or hard sell rhetoric messages planned, rather just the need to raise-up what it means to be a good steward for God and the church.

I say this to all who ask about our church; that our parish is blessed with missional people who understand what Jesus is calling us to do in our parish, our community and around the greater community to love and serve God. Serving as missional evangelists for Christ and his church is a continuous work that calls all who can serve, to do so.

Part of being committed to fulfilling Jesus' call as Christians is supporting the church financially so she can accomplish the tasks that allow a church like Resurrection to do its work. The work of our church includes providing a worship filled fellowship every Sunday morning that brings us together as a faith community; it also includes providing for a physical plant to celebrate our worship and the many programs that occur within and outside the building and grounds; it also means providing the support for outreach programs that touch our own lives, and the lives of the needy in our local and greater community.

This year we try to go green as much as possible....all our stewardship information is on our web site under the "giving" tab  (Click here to see Brochure) (Click here to make your Pledge). There you will find all the information necessary to complete a pledge to the parish. As I have asked in the past campaigns, please complete a pledge card, even if you cannot afford to pledge money at this time. I also ask that if you able to increase your pledge, you consider doing so. Most importantly please consider your commitment to Resurrection Church as giving back to God the most important reflection of our time, talents and gifts.  Please pray about how important our financial giving can make a difference for our parish. Be generous and know that what you give is for the glory of God.

"Put simply, life is a God-given opportunity to become who we are, to affirm our own true spiritual nature, claim our truth, appropriate and integrate the reality of our being, but most of all,  to say 'Yes' to the One who calls us the Beloved."

Blessings and many thanks,  Fr. David +

BOOK CLUB WILL MEET MONDAY, NOV. 6
The Red Tenet
7 pm in the Undercroft

The Finding Faith Through Fiction Book Club will meet next on Monday, November 6 at 7 pm in the undercroft.  This month's reading is "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant.

Her name is Dinah. In the Bible, her life is only hinted at in a brief and violent detour within the more familiar chapters of the Book of Genesis that are about her father, Jacob, and his dozen sons. T old in Dinah's voice, this novel reveals the traditions and turmoils of ancient womanhood-the world of the red tent. It begins with the story of her mothers-Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah-the four wives of Jacob. They love Dinah and give her gifts that are to sustain her through a damaged youth, a calling to midwifery, and a new home in a foreign land. Dinah's story reaches out from a remarkable period of early history and creates an intimate, immediate connection.
