Our Mission:
Grow in God's grace. Love with all our heart. Serve with all our strength.
A Word from Pastor Tom
Dear Friends in Christ,
Easter weekend is here! I invite you to experience these most meaningful Christian holy days through:

Maundy Thursday Holy Communion – available online tonight by 6 pm. Learn about the richness of the Jewish celebration of Passover and how Jesus’ disciple’s experienced Passover in a different way that first Holy Week. We invite you to have grape juice and bread ready at home in order to participate in communion at the conclusion of the service.
Good Friday “Tenebrae” Service in the Ministry Center at 7pm (in person and also online). In this service that recalls the darkness (‘tenebrae’) of Good Friday, we will commemorate the passion of the Lord Jesus Christ with your church family. If you are worshipping from home, have a candle and nail ready. To worship in person, please register here.
NEW! SUNRISE at the SOUND, 6:45 – 7:15 a.m. register here. Due to the overwhelming response to our 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services, we have added this inspiring SUNRISE option to provide additional space for potential community attendees at the later services.

Remember to bring lawn chairs, mask and an attitude of expectancy as we celebrate the Risen Christ.
Easter at the SOUND, 9:30 register and 11 register (also by live-stream at 9:30 – no prerecorded services this Sunday).

Remember to come early and bring:
  • lawn chairs or comfy blankets to sit on in the grassy area,
  • masks
  • an attitude of expectancy as we celebrate the RISEN CHRIST at the SOUND with the Cypress Waters community.

Park street-side or in garages within a couple of blocks of the SOUND and come early to enjoy complimentary Ascension Coffee outside of their shop adjacent to the venue. Again, it will be a different kind of Easter, but it will be AMAZING (the weather is looking amazing as well – thanks be to God!).  I can’t wait to see you in person as we worship the Risen Christ together!
Yours Gratefully in Christ,
P.S. Many thanks to dozens of volunteers who delivered “Easter at the Sound” signs and Easter crosses this past week. Remember to keep the white side facing out until Easter morning, when we turn the sign to the “Christ is Risen” side, proclaiming Easter HOPE to our community!
P.P.S. Back by popular demand – RISE UP will be coming back Sunday, April 11 at 8 am. Join us for this informal, outdoor worship experience at the amphitheater adjacent to the Ministry Center.

Resurrection Eggs ...

are a fun and different way to tell the Easter Story. Each egg contains an object that helps us understand a little more about the events that happened during Holy week leading up to Easter Sunday and the resurrection of Jesus. This is something that all can enjoy. The Resurrection Eggs are available in the hall by the Rosenburg Chapel.

March Mission of Month ...

is designated for Metrocrest Services/Sack Summer Hunger (SSH) Program. With the extended economic situation we expect many families will need help this summer. Metrocrest Social Services, our partner for this program, has not announced their plan for SSH 2021 as of yet. We are planning ahead so we can serve as many families as needed this summer.
You can HELP feed these families in multiple ways:
  • Support this mission with your donation dollars (click here to give online and select Mission of the Month for the fund, make checks payable to FUMC with memo “SSH” or you can TEXT 2 GIVE. Text FUMCC to 73256. You will receive a link and simply follow the instructions.
  • Participate as a member for the Packing team. This team will pack groceries for the first week and last week of the summer program and as needed from May 27 through August 12 to pack supplemental food.
  • Participate as a member of the Delivery teams. These teams deliver food to families in the program on Saturdays, May 29-August 14.
Participate as a member of our Transport team. This group transports food from the sourcing location to FUMCC. It would be helpful for to have a large truck or SUV. This team will be scheduled as needed based on arrangements with local suppliers.

Questions about how to volunteer or how the process works can be sent to Julia Moomau, Julia_Moomau@yahoo.com. You can reach out to Sally McCurdy anytime at sallymccurdy@verizon.net, with general questions or for more information about any of our Community Food programs.
We look forward to working with you all to help eliminating food insecurity in our community especially in these unusual times. THANKS so MUCH for your help!
United Methodist Women
UMW & Friends continue to help both here and regionally.

Several of the circles and women's groups recently made Easter baskets for Christ's Foundry and Easter dinners.

On Easter, Christ's Foundry will have a small sunrise service in the parking lot and a main service in the afternoon at Lovers Lane. Rev. Amy Spaur said that the Easter baskets are an extra special blessing that will be passed out to the children and will be a huge lift to their spirits!
