Happening At Our Parishes

Fr. Rob's Message

Dear Friends,

June brings to me many joys of family and friends, graduations, wedding anniversaries, and people who love me and invite me to make time to be with them. I am blessed in countless ways by our Lord, who wants us to know His complete joy. This joy is in my everyday awareness!

This month, of June, I am blessed to know so many couples who are celebrating sixty years of marriage!!!!

In the coming weeks, I have the honor of acknowledging several of these couples, and blessing them at our weekend liturgies! My vocation continues to be joyful and filled with endless gifts from our Lord. I am so grateful and joyful to be in this sacred vocation.

CHANGES COMING!

Our two parishes are growing closer, sharing more and more each day. Whether it is our wonderful formation programs, our terrific social events or our uplifting services, we continue to grow together as a spiritual community.

In late June and early July you will see the next steps on that journey. We will be launching a new joint website and bringing together our YouTube channels. But first we are making a financial operations change.

To make your consistent giving easier, faster and more secure, and to simplify our financial operations, we are transitioning both parishes to a new online giving and event management platform called Pushpay. If you currently make recurring gifts through WeShare (Transfiguration) or eCatholic/EVO (St. Catherine) you will be asked to change to Pushpay. It’s a simple process, and you will be receiving an email from Pushpay in early June with instructions on how to make the change, including cancelling your recurring gift through the old platform. This should be a simple process that will take no more than 10 minutes. We hope to be fully on the new platform by the end of June.

Those of you who give recurring gifts directly through bank transfer (ACH) are not affected and do not need to make any changes.

If you have any questions, please contact Dan Hofford (Daniel.hofford@dor.org) or Katie Mulcahy (katie.mulcahy@dor.org) or by calling the parish office.

HELP NEEDED!

We have two lovely campuses, with beautiful grounds and wonderful facilities.  That’s the good news!  But taking care of them, especially as our buildings age, is an important and increasingly labor-intensive task.  While we do bring in professionals to help with the ‘heavy lifting’ and skilled-trade tasks, we always need people to help us keep things in good shape. Are you a gardener? Skilled at evicting dust bunnies? Fabulous with a paint brush? Are you the family go-to person, called to assist with minor home repairs? Or are you skilled in a trade? We need your help!   Please contact Ben Cutter at ben.cutter@dor.org for Transfiguration and Bob Goldbach at bob.goldbach@dor.org for St. Catherine of Siena.

Perpetual Charity Fund Proposal Guidelines

Each year The Church of the Transfiguration issues a Request for Proposals (RFP) for an annual grant from the Church of the Transfiguration Perpetual Charity Fund. The purpose of these grants is to help organizations in the greater Monroe County area that serve low-income individuals and families. The total amount to be granted this year (2025) will be $15,275.  Proposals will be reviewed by the leadership of the Church of the Transfiguration, who has full authority in determining which organizations are awarded grants, and the dollar amount.

  1. Proposals are due in the office of The Church of the Transfiguration on or before Friday, June 13, 2025, grants will be distributed by June 30, 2025.
  2. The program, service or advocacy effort must be people centered, in keeping with Gospel values, and serve the needs of the greater Monroe County area. “Startup” programs and services are not eligible.
  3.  Proposals should be brief (2-3 paragraphs) and must include a description of the program, the program budget, and how the grant will be used.
  4. If the agency is not known by The Church of the Transfiguration as a nonprofit agency, we reserve the right to ask for appropriate nonprofit documentation.
  5.  The Committee reserves the right to fund up to four proposals and to request a site visit of the agency.
  6.  All proposals should be emailed to daniel.hofford@dor.org, or USPS mailed to:
