Fr. Rob's Message

 Dear Friends,

We are in a season of harvest and that season is expressed in many ways. One way is in the asking of support.

You and I are asked often and in so many ways to give support. It is often in monetary asks. Sometimes it may seem to never end. It’s been discussed among the Parish Staff and every once in a while, one of the parishioners may express that to us as well.

This time of year, the asking seems accelerated with the holidays quickly approaching. Recently, we have been asked to reflect on our stewardship for Unbound, Giving Trees, Food Collections, Clothing Collections, CMA, and of course our Parish Support to keep our churches vital and supportive of its ministries.

I am sure like me, you have also been asked to give to organizations we have already supported in the past and to consider new ones. How many envelopes, emails, etc. have you already received in asking to consider a donation?

As the early active phase of the Catholic Ministries Appeal continues, we want to thank all of you who have made early donations. We have a very good start toward achieving our goal for this year. At St. Catherine's masses earlier this month, were blessed to have James and Marissa Phelps sharing how the CMA supported Diocesan ministries for children and youth have impacted their family. Along with direct funding for some Catholic schools, CMA dollars support initiatives and programs developed and offered through the offices of Pastoral Services and Evangelization and Catechesis for our young parishioners. These include campus ministries, Newman communities, sacramental preparation, and young adult ministry programs. As this year's theme is “Together We Bring Hope…and Hope does not Disappoint”, it is altogether fitting to remember that the "Hope" we have for the future rests in all of our hands as we embrace our youth as the continuing foundation of our Church. If you have already given, thank you. If not, please be as generous as you can in your response. Please continue to pray for the success of our CMA efforts..

As of October 21:

St. Catherine is at 45.25% of the $117,000 goal ($52,940) with 66 donors

Transfiguration is at 50.01% of the $200,000 goal ($100,020) with 100 donors

Thank you to all who have already made their pledges!
