News of Celebration!
Kevin Yeager was given a cancer-free colon diagnosis on Wednesday! We rejoice with him in this fantastic news! Thanks be to God!
A Couple of Updates on Our Members
Paulette Stahlke is getting stronger, but she still has a lot of pain. The device to suppress pain has been implanted above her hip, but it's not turned on and adjusted yet. We're waiting for a call from the surgeon's office, hopefully, this week yet, to get that done. Then we will know if the procedure was successful.

I spoke with George Wolf yesterday, on the occasion of his 90th birthday! There will be no funeral for his stepdaughter, Laura Jo (Delancey) Langkop, who resided in Frankfort, IN. Final arrangements are pending.

When I spoke with George, he was on the 8th floor of the Washington Square Hotel, NYC, waiting on his son, Charles, to call regarding a Broadway Show! That sounds like an excellent way to spend your 90th birthday! Happy Birthday, George!

Worship Assistant Schedule for July
Please click the purple-colored button below for the Worship Assistant Schedule for July. If you are unable to serve, please obtain a substitute and notify the church office. Thanks!
Service Time Change
Our service time changes to 11 AM beginning Sunday, July 3. This time will remain through December. Fellowship Time will be held from 10 – 10:45 a.m. Please mark your calendars!
Christ's Cupboard
This week's grocery ads are not very pantry useful so we must rely on stores such as Aldis, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Save-a-lot for our more reasonable purchases. Christ's Cupboard needs canned pasta, pasta and pasta sauce, soaps of all kinds, and toilet tissue. Our vegetables, mac and cheese, and cereal areas are looking good. We can fill the pantry by bringing just one can or box or package at a time so let's get these shelves ready to move on.

Service Committee
Kokomo Rescue Mission is asking for BACK to SCHOOL ASSISTANCE! New socks and undergarments are needed for their "Back To School Assistance" program from July 12-15 for students K -12 that qualify based on income. Items needed include socks, panties/underwear, sports bras, and boxers/briefs. Please remember many school-aged children wear adult sizes. There will be a box in Fellowship Hall for your donations.

New Furnace
Christ Lutheran Church has an opportunity to become more energy-efficient and environmentally conscious. One of our furnaces (one of eight) was purchased in 1994 and is reaching the end of its useful life. It’s time to start thinking about replacing it with a more energy efficient furnace before the old one breaks down.

As a result of the energy audit that was recently performed at Christ, we have an opportunity to apply for a grant (Indiana Thriving Faith Communities Decarbonization Grant) to offset the cost by up to 25%. We have a bid for a replacement furnace that is $11,637.88. That means that the grant would cover $2,909.47 of the cost. The congregation would be responsible for the remaining $8,728.41. The new furnace must be installed by November 1. Considering the condition of the supply chain, we need to get started on this now in order to meet the deadline.

To qualify for the grant, the congregation needs to pledge that they have access to the money  to complete the payment for the furnace. The church council has agreed to pledge our $10,000 CD. If we cash in the CD, it will involve a penalty for withdrawing it before the contracted time is over. However, the council would like to solicit pledges from the congregation in the hope that we do not have to cash in the CD. We believe that this is doable. We will be collecting funding until June 1.
