Please entertain the idea of attending the Service Auction as we will have some interesting donations this year, like "5 nights in Florence's Coastal Washington State cottage" and an "Introductory Aerial Arts class" (think static trapeze and Cirque du Soleil for non-acrobats)!

Also, please consider donating your brilliant talents to this event and submit your donations as soon as possible. This will allow the folks that compile the Donation Lists to avoid having to rush right before the event. You can donate your services to the Auction by filling out this short online form or one of the paper forms that we'll have at the Hub Table! You can donate your time before, during, or after, the Service Auction event by CLICKING HERE to complete our Volunteer Sign-Up Form or by signing up on paper at the Hub Table. Thank you for thinking about submitting a service and/or time donation soon!

SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE NEWS
UUCUC Shared Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive half of our weekly Sunday plate collections, designated checks written to UUCUC with organization's name written in the memo line, cash envelopes designated for "Shared Offering" within the specified month and on-line donations through our give webpage .

During the month of March Sunday services’ shared offerings will support Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center.

The Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center (UNCC) is an academically focused after school program for students in grades K-12. The mission of the Center is to give children the resources needed to learn, grow, and achieve their fullest potential. UNCC provides year-round services for students in grades K-12 as well as resources for parents and family members including summer programming and a “college and career” program. UNCC is a federal meal site and offer meals to the students during the school year and in the summer. There are also opportunities for recreational activities and field trips.

Founded by Janice Mitchell in 2009, UNCC was a fulfillment of a life-long dream. Growing up in rural Louisiana, Janice dreamed of creating a community center for youth where families worked together to help every child achieve their life’s full potential. UNCC is a place where our youth grow, our parents help, and our community shares. Students receive assistance with homework, computer instruction, and connect with positive role models in a safe, nurturing, creative environment.

UNCC serves students from all socio-economic groups but primarily low income and at- risk youth including homeless students. With financial support from the community,
UNCC can serve more students who can’t afford the already low fees for the Center and/or transportation to the Center.
