THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
THERESA BENSON
Sunday, September 12 at 10:15 a.m. via Live-stream
As the centerpiece of our worship services during the summer, the Worship Committee crafted a Wellspring series that honored the connections that members of our congregation have to other religious traditions. Interspiritual Reverend Theresa Benson was scheduled to share how an Interspiritual Interfaith approach has developed and become a wellspring in her life during the month of August but was unable. She will offer the interspiritual perspective as part of this mornings service. With this series, we invite all to reflect on the spiritual traditions and practices that enrich your own lives.

We have had quite a few people respond to our (voluntary) vaccine registry. If you have not yet filled it out and want to, please go to this link. This will be helpful data for UUCUC's COVID-19 Advisory Group to review as they continue to discuss plans for reopening once the risk level for COVID-19 decreases. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
OUR CARING CONGREGATION
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org for last Sunday, September 5, 2021.

From Jerry Carden: Tim’s brother in law in St. Louis, Eric Witruk, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. He’s having a very difficult time with the chemo treatments and is currently in the ICU.

From Jerry Carden: Dear friends Dirk Mol and Jerry Wray are having a very difficult time right now. Dirk has been in and out of hospital (currently in), and Jerry is having a tough time keeping up with the demands. Some of you know them - send positive thoughts for healing.

From Sharon Neufer Emswiler: Prayers for Tom Neufer Emswiler, who was in the ER last weekend with a high fever, and who is back at Meadowbrook for rehabilitation. May his strength return, and may he come home safely as soon as possible.

From The Pitcel Family: Sorrow for our cousin who just became one of the breakthrough Covid cases. Prayers for the vaccine to keep her out of the hospital.

From Cathy Ritchie: September 6 is the 2nd anniversary of my arrival in Champaign/Urbana. This past year has included more physical challenges, along with deaths of friends via cancer, heart attack, and suicide. But I still know this is where I’m meant to be, so I’m happily hopeful for a peaceful year #3.

From Kathy Robinson: Kathy was admitted late Thursday for leading-edge treatment of acute leukemia, a diagnosis that hit the family out of the blue.

From Amy Robison: I don’t normally swear, but DAMN one of my Girl Scout kids has COVID-19. Mask up and keep your distance everybody. If you are old enough, get vaccinated.

From Amy Robison: Thankful my brother is in California to take care of my 90 year old mother. Heart issues this week led to her getting a stent put in. Progress looks good.

From Emily Rosecrans (Miller): So very grateful to be alive this Sunday - and this first National Suicide Prevention Week 2021.

From Amy Schnelle & Matt Mooney: Struggling with the grief of the unexpected loss of our beloved dog Linus and the not-unexpected loss of Amy’s elderly grandmother in the past few weeks.

From Kathy Vance: In honor of her late father, James Bryan, who passed away last weekend.
Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.organy time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
