2017 Annual Fund Update
As of Monday, December 5, 286 pledges totaling $798,215 have been received toward our $975,000 goal. The Annual Fund Leadership and Vestry are grateful for each pledge received to-date and will make extra efforts to seek 100% participation from all member households as follow-up to Commitment Sunday, November 6.

It is exciting to watch the 2017 pledgers' list as of December 5 grow as the Treasurer and Finance Committee can complete a 2017 operating budget draft.
Looking back on this year in the life of our parish, I am struck by the many ways we are living into our Vision Statement and to belonging to the "Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement." I see this in the way we express the love of Christ to one another and to our community at large.
8:00 a.m. Holy Communion* in the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer (Rite I), including sermon, organ music, and hymns.
8:30 a.m. "Holy Chow,"
breakfast in the Community Room. Cost is $4 per person; $15 household maximum.
9:30 a.m. Christian Formation for all ages, locations display on signage throughout the Parish House.
10:45 a.m. Holy Communion* in the contemporary language of the Book of Common Prayer (Rite II), including sermon, choral and organ music, and hymns.
5:00 p.m. Advent Evenings with Holy Eucharist and Music. The liturgy includes a homily, moments of silence, and diverse musical offerings for the season of Advent.
*Nursery Care - 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Infants and toddlers, ages 0-3 are welcome in St. Peter's professionally staffed nursery. The nursery area is accessible from the Church by walking through the Chapel, and proceeding up the steps to the left.
Sunday Formation for Youth and Children, weekly.
Journey to Adulthood (J2A) youth, ages 13-18, meet in the Youth Suite (basement level, Parish House). Catechesis of the Good Shepherd children, ages 2-12, meet on first floor in the Toddler Atrium and Levels 1-3 Atria (classrooms). 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Parish House.

Festive Advent Potluck Luncheon Draws Large Crowd.
Over 150 people attended this year's luncheon on Sunday, December 4 following Advent Lessons and Carols. In addition to all who brought food for the massive spread, the Clergy and Vestry offer appreciation for the work of Vestry Coordinator for Fellowship, Paige Ghareeb and the many "elves" who assisted with setup, hospitality, and clean-up. Pastoral Notice: Death in our St. Peter's Family. Parishioner Kathy Pritchard, wife of Dr. Bill Pritchard, died on Friday, November 18. A Requiem Eucharist will be offered at St. Peter's on Sunday, December 11, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Reception in the Parlor. Annual Meeting Briefing.
On Sunday, December 4, approximately 200 parishioners gathered for theAnnual Meeting of the Parish before an excellent offering of Advent Lessons and Carols with The Holy Eucharist and Parish Festive Luncheon. New Vestry members (Class of 2019), Elsie Erneston, John Frederick, Maria Long, and Cooper Morrison were elected to follow the Class of 2016:
Irma Hoffman, Des Keller, Dave Lavoie, and Nelda Leon. On behalf of the Wardens and Vestry, the Rector extended appreciation for all who serve in a variety of ways in life at St. Peter's, including those whose ministry is to be prayerful, present, engaged, and offer financial resources to support the parish mission, ministry, and vision. Holiday Provisions Provided by The St. Peter's Choir
In preparation for their Summer 2017 residency at St. Alban's Cathedral, England, the fine cooks of our parish choir will offer superb specialties for your home, work, or social celebrations. St. Peter's Choir Provisions is part of the fund-raising efforts required to offset expenses for this continuing education pilgrimage. Greening of the Church, December 23.
On Friday, December 23,
beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending 2:00 p.m. or until finished, all ages are invited to share in an annual fun occasion of cleaning, polishing, decorating, and preparing our sacred space for Christmas with candles, wreaths, garlands, and poinsettias. If you would like to honor or memorialize loved ones by offering a donation for Christmas greenery, decorations, or special music including guest instrumentalists, the deadline to print acknowledgements is noon on Monday, December 19. To make your donation online, click here.
