Palm Sunday Coat/Jacket Collection March 23/24

In remembrance of that first Palm Sunday when cloaks were laid down to receive the King of Kings, the Human Care Board will once again be collecting coats and jackets to be given to the Orphan Grain Train. Clean, gently-used or new coats/jackets can be taken into the sanctuary and hung over the end of your pew the weekend of March 23/24. The Orphan Grain Train will distribute the donated coats to those around the world who need them. Thank you in advance for supporting this effort!

March 23/24, Palm Sunday Weekend: normal weekend schedule: 5:30pm; 8:30am; and 11am (Comm.)

March 28, Maundy Thursday: 10am & 6:30pm (Communion at both)

March 29, Good Friday: 10am & 6:30pm (Tenebrae)

March 30, Easter Vigil: 7pm (Communion)

March 31, Easter Sunday: 6:30am; 8:30am; 10:30am (Communion at all service) - NO Sunday School or Adult Bible Studies

Nominations Being Accepted for Teaching Position

Nominations are being accepted for the position of St. John Lutheran School Middle School English and Literature Teacher (members of St. John Lutheran Church are invited to submit names to be considered for a call). This position serves as the 7th grade homeroom teacher, teaches a middle school math class, teaches 7th grade religion one day a week, and currently directs the 8th grade class play. Please submit names using this linked form or by stopping in the church office by 5pm on Wed., April 3. 


Charting Our Course - St. John Ministry Plan

You can pick up a hard copy of the St. John Ministry Plan from the church office during the week and on the weekend at the welcome center in the narthex and in the west entrance. Click here for a digital copy. You can also click here to watch the presentation from Nov. 12.

Governance Team Initial Recommendations

The Governance Team has prepared initial recommendations related to potential bylaw changes as a result of action at the January Voting Assembly. There will be two opportunities to hear these recommendations:

  • April 14, 2pm in the fellowship hall 
  • April 21, 10am in the sanctuary

Summer Horizons

This program is open to Kindergarten - 6th grade in the summer. There are many different classes such as: Art, Science, Cooking, Space, Photography, Fitness, Music, History, Rockets. . . and more! Your child may enroll in three different class sessions for the week.

Summer Horizons flyers went home yesterday. Enrollment opens Mar. 16 at 10:00am!

This is the first year we have sent out the class list flyer before enrollment opens, and with every new thing there is a few things we need to change! Thank you for being patient and sharing your thoughts, we truly appreciate it!

ALSO, WHEN ENROLLING, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ENROLL YOUR CHILD IN THE GRADE THEY ARE IN RIGHT NOW. 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR.
