Please wear a mask

On Thursday, May 13, the CDC announced new guidelines and recommendations for mask wearing. Please note: The Diocese of Colorado has requested congregations continue to remain masked when gathering for Sunday worship and other church supported events.

St. Michael's will continue to lean into the best practice of wearing masks until further notice. As an intergenerational community, we have a number of parishioners who have not yet had the opportunity to get vaccinated. Others in our community are unable, for health reasons, to receive the benefit of a vaccination. For these reasons and others, The Rev. Matt Holcombe asks for your patience and continued flexibility as we process the implications of the latest CDC announcement regarding masks - while striving to worship safely. If you have any questions you may contact the rector at [email protected].
Help Wanted
All we need is U

It takes a village and St. Michael's is looking for amazing volunteers with all sorts of talents and skills. When you see this logo/image let us know if you are able to help. With many new initiatives on the horizon, let us know how you want to get involved. Current opportunities to help:
Calling all Singers!
Amalia is in need of Congregational Song Leaders for the outdoor summer Sunday services. We will rotate several singers per week to lead hymns, communion songs, and other music. Everyone will be masked and safely distanced. You do not need to be a member of the choir or make a long-term commitment to participate. This is an easy, fun way to get involved in the liturgy! If you're interested please talk to Amalia after the service or email [email protected].

All Parish Spring Book Read
May 19 & 26 6 - 7:30 PM

New York Times bestseller An Altar in the World, written by acclaimed author Barbara Brown Taylor continues her spiritual journey by building upon where she left off in Leaving Church. In An Altar in the World, Taylor shows us how to discover altars everywhere we go and in nearly everything we do as we learn to live with purpose, pay attention, slow down, and revere the world we live in. CLICK HERE to join the Rev. Matt Holcombe for a 2-week group discussion via Zoom on Wednesdays, May 19 & 26, 6:00 - 7:30 PM.
United Thank Offering
(UTO) Box
Collection May 23

As we've progressed through the Lenten and Easter Seasons we have been reminded of the many blessings we have to be thankful for with the opportunity to pay these blessing forward with contributions to our United Thank Offering boxes. UTO box contributions help provide kitchen equipment for homeless shelters, handicap access in church and service buildings, support for a school in the Dominican Republic, and much more in alignment with the mission of the Episcopal Church. Don't forget to bring your UTO box back in to St. Michael's on Sunday, May 23 as we collect and pass on the many gifts and blessings from our lives to others.
Outdoor Worship Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to be our Safety Ushers - assist with the set up and clean up, Lay Reader for each service, and even help set up for our in-person Fellowship on the Lawn! CLICK HERE to sign up today. We are so excited to offer this outdoor worship experience to all, but we need your help to make it possible. Sign up to volunteer today!
Children's Chapel
On break until next Fall...

Children's Chapel is on summer break! Thank you to all who have joined us so far, it's been such fun to learn and worship together! But it's time for vacations and all sorts of adventures. Stay tuned for more information on how and when we will be getting our young parishioners involved again in the Fall!
Mercy's Gate
Thank You-Lenten Gifts

Thanks to all members of St. Michael’s who gave food and personal products to support the mission of Mercy’s Gate during our 40-Days of Lent ingathering. The ministry estimates our contribution totaled 95 bags of food – roughly 9.5 grocery carts-full.
Highlighting the impact for 2020, Executive Director Jason Dilger noted that on a 4-point satisfaction scale, Mercy’s Gate received a survey score of 3.74; the food bank remains the highest demand service, with Rent/Mortgage Assistance next. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, look for volunteer opportunities on the ministry website: mercysgatecs.org; or contact Jim Moore, parish liaison to Mercy’s Gate, at (719)598-3245, [email protected].
