Sigourney Street Construction

Please be aware that planned Hartford city street construction is now happening on Sigourney Street between Farmington Avenue and Albany Avenue. If you are traveling to the church, please allow extra time to navigate slow lanes and detours. While the majority of the work is taking place Monday through Friday, it has been noted that work is happening on the weekend as well.

Proclaim your affiliation with the Episcopal Church! Two types of car decals are available in Goodwin Hall in a basket.

We ask that you take only one type: a sticker for the bumper or a static cling for your window.

A Conversation About Worship

Sunday, November 19, 2023

What lifts your spirit to God during our worship? What brings your spirit crashing back down to earth? These things are different for each of us, and may also change for us depending on what’s going on in our lives.

Updated service language, occasional applause from the congregation, a wider range of musical styles, equipment for broadcasting services online – do these or other changes add or detract from your experience of worship at Trinity Church?

The purpose of the meeting is not for us to debate about what is correct or incorrect for worship. The purpose is to share our own experience of what lifts us up so that we can understand each other better and enrich our worship together.

Please plan to join us following 10 o’clock worship on November 19

Trinity's 2023 "Giving Tree"

Arrives 11/19!

This Advent, we are continuing Trinity's tradition of a "Giving Tree" - a tree set up in the Sanctuary, loaded with tags that list wishes from students at Trinity Academy and children from the Adopt-A-Social Worker program of Covenant to Care.

Our tree will be up on Sunday, 11/19, with tags for each of the children. Parishioners who wish to participate may chose a tag on this or a subsequent Sunday, purchase the item and place the gift under the tree by Sunday 12/10. We are committed to these children, and it is important that gifts be returned by this date so that they may be distributed.

With only 3 weeks to shop for and return the gifts, our elves will by busy! Please mark your calendars and plan to join in this festive event.

Questions? Please contact Penny Pearson.

Save the Dates: December 2 and 3.

Trinity Book Group

All are invited to participate in Trinity's Book Group, meeting next on Friday, December 15th from 7 - 9 pm. French Braid, by contemporary author Anne Tyler, will be the featured book; it's widely available in libraries and bookstores. ”Full of heartbreak and hilarity, French Braid is classic Anne Tyler: a stirring, uncannily insightful novel of tremendous warmth and humor that illuminates the kindnesses and cruelties of our daily lives.” Amy Arlin will host Book Group at her home in Avon. Please let her know if you plan to attend; she'll send you directions - and make sure to have plenty of refreshments on hand! ([email protected])
