14 March 2021
Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

We are so glad that you are joining us as we continue to try new ways of worshipping together. As we journey through the cycle of trying something new, listening to and reflecting on our experiences, and adjusting things for a new try, we acknowledge that the changes may cause some confusion and perhaps frustration. We hope that you are still able to find joy in worshipping God in community, and we encourage you to reach out to Rev. D (860-986-3289 or dlittlepage at trinityhartford.org) to share your thoughts and experiences.

Please Note: if you call in on a land line, long distance charges may apply.

Follow-up information from the 2/21 Open Forum on Racial Disparities in Health:

The Connecticut State Legislature will consider SB 842 during this legislative session. If enacted, this bill will expand access to health insurance in Connecticut by offering a “public option” health insurance plan. This would allow many people with limited income and no health insurance to purchase insurance they can afford. Let your state senator know if you support this bill.

Advocacy for Declaring Racism a Public Health Crisis

The Trinity Community for Racial Justice would like to continue to share resources on our current focus topic, disparities in healthcare” for the remainder of Lent.
This information in the graphic was published recently by the YWCA of Hartford, and if you use this link you can register to join their advocacy to create a community without racism.

Email Spam Reminder

There has been another increase in spam emails purporting to be coming from Rev. D.

Please remember that Rev. D. will never email you asking you to purchase gift cards, or to urgently email back but not call. If it’s urgent Rev. D will call you and will not request that you not call. An easy way to check the validity of an email is to check the ‘from’ email address. Finally, if there is any doubt, DO NOT RESPOND TO THE EMAIL. Instead, call or text Rev. D. at 860-986-3289.

Women Together
Women Together begins a 7-week series on February 16th with The Meaning of Mary Magdalene; Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity. The author is Episcopal priest, retreat leader and lecturer Cynthia Bourgeault. The Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schiori describes the book as "a remarkable invitation into the origins and wisdom of Christianity, through the apostolic witness of Mary Magdalene". Women from Trinity, St. Monica's, and St. John's currently participate in WT, and all are welcome to join, whether for this series alone, or longer. Meetings are weekly via Zoom on Tuesdays, from 2:00-3:15 pm. For more information, and to receive a link, please contact Heather Kramer (kramerheather1989@yahoo.com) or Enid Oberholtzer (tomenidjas@aol.com).

Trinity Book Group
“Animals don’t exist in order to teach us things, but that is what they have always done, and most of what they teach us is what we think we know about ourselves.” So writes Helen Macdonald, author of Vesper Flights, the book to be discussed at the next meeting of Trinity's Book Group on Friday, March 26th.
The book contains short essays on topics ranging from the migration of songbirds to hunting mushrooms, in a style described as “breathtaking” and “dazzling”.
All are most welcome to join in this Zoom meeting, starting at 7:00 pm and lasting about an hour. For a link, please contact Linda MacGougan at macgougans@gmail.com
