Update on Current COVID Protocols
as of Sunday, 23 October
-
We are offering wine and grape juice by intinction only. Please remember that if you wish not to receive wine, receiving Bread only imparts the full benefit of the Sacrament.
-
Masks at indoor services are strongly encouraged.
- We will continue to wear masks in the office in all common areas, and those who have private offices may request visitors to wear masks. Please be respectful of staff wishes.
As a reminder, there are various levels of comfort in our community with masking, handshakes, and hugging, so please be respectful of others whose decisions differ from your own.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rev. D. or a member of the Vestry.

Church by the Pond: October 15
Here’s Nancy Jacobson’s recap of the service held on Saturday, October 15:
“It was a glorious day to be outside and even more joyful to join our congregation in Bushnell Park. We cannot count on 70 degrees in October and don't think it bodes particularly well for Mother Earth, but it was nice.
"Today's celebrant and preacher was Rev.D Littlepage. Rev. D enjoyed the weather as she walked from the Connecticut Convention Center, following the ordination of our Bishop Diocecesan, to lead us in prayer. Her reflection was on the value of persistence. She referenced both of today's readings and the teaching of Martin Luther King Jr. Jesus teaches us that we need to continue to keep praying and working to achieve true justice and peace.
Following prayers for the people and peace Rev. D celebrated the Eucharist. Twenty-one congregants were present this afternoon.
At the end of the service Trinity Episcopal Church, Hartford gave out lunches to 38 guests in the park.”

Women Together gathers weekly to explore our Christian faith and practice through book discussion, prayer and fellowship.
We meet Tuesdays from 2:00 to 3:15pm in the reception room at St. John’s (679 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT). We will begin discussing Your Sorrow Is My Sorrow, Hope and Strength in Times of Suffering by Joyce Rupp on November 1st ."The author relates the Seven Sorrows of Mary to our own sufferings, and opens for us a vast reservoir of courage, strength, and wisdom. Her book is about us. It offers us compassion, comfort, and healing.”
The books we choose are usually available at amazon.com and other booksellers.
WT has been attended by women from St. John’s, Trinity, St. James and St. Monica’s.
Please contact Linda MacGougan or Cathy Rowe if you would like additional information.
