Women Together...a group that gathers weekly to explore our Christian faith and practice through book discussion, prayer and fellowship. We will resume meetings on Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:15pm in the reception room at St. John’s (679 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT).
We will begin reading Ladder to the Light, An Indigenous Elders Meditations on Hope and Courage by Steven Charleston ©2021. Steven Charleston is a Choctaw elder and Episcopal priest who offers words of hard-won hope, rooted in daily conversations with the Spirit and steeped in Indigenous wisdom. Native America knows something about cultivating resilience and resisting darkness. For all who yearn for hope, Ladder to the Light is a book of comfort, truth, and challenge in a time of anguish and fear.
For this meeting we will read The Introduction, The Vision of the Kiva and Chapter 1, The Rung of Faith pages 1-37. Don’t worry if you haven’t received your book yet, just read what you can.
