Update on Current COVID Protocols
as of Sunday, 13 November
-
We are offering wine and grape juice by intinction only. Please remember that if you wish not to receive wine, receiving Bread only imparts the full benefit of the Sacrament.
-
Masks at indoor services are strongly encouraged.
- We will continue to wear masks in the office in all common areas, and those who have private offices may request visitors to wear masks. Please be respectful of staff wishes.
As a reminder, there are various levels of comfort in our community with masking, handshakes, and hugging, so please be respectful of others whose decisions differ from your own.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rev. D. or a member of the Vestry.

|
Thank you
to everyone who mailed
or brought in their pledge card!
If you have not notified the office of your 2023 pledge and would like pledging envelopes, please get your pledge in by Wednesday, November 16.
The office will be ordering envelopes and needs a final count.
If you did not receive a pledge packet, please let the office know. Packets are available in the church in both the North and South narthexes. Electronic pledge forms can be accessed here

Prelude to the Haydn Missa Brevis –
Sunday, November 13th
Adult Christian Formation
after the 10:00 Am Service
How do we face challenges with love?
How do we find joy amidst chaos and uncertainty?
How do we, in the darkest of times, find ways to play?
Join music director, Michelle Horsley on Sunday, November 13th after the 10:00 am service as she shares life perspectives from 18th century Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn, whose life and works are a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
This presentation is in joyful anticipation of the fundraiser concert for The Choir School of Hartford on the following Sunday, November 20th, in which our choirs will be performing Haydn's Missa Brevis in F major ("Jugendmesse"), joined by string ensemble and guest singers.
This will be presented in the sanctuary.

The Vestry will meet on Tuesday November 15th at 7 pm in person and online (Meeting ID: 857 1776 4576 Passcode: 847853).
Vestry meetings are open to any member of the parish. Members of the parish are especially invited to bring concerns and feedback to the Vestry during the “Feedback from Congregation” section of the meeting which begins at about 7:20/7:30. (The first 15-20 minutes of the meeting are a time of reflection and connection). Members who choose to do so are welcome to come only to the beginning of the meeting to share concerns or are welcome to stay for the entire meeting.
Please note that if there are conversations that are confidential in nature, visitors to the meeting will be asked to excuse themselves for that portion and then will be invited back in.

We are happy to announce that Coffee Hour is back on Sundays. In order for Coffee Hour to continue, we need members of the congregation to start the coffee, set-up and clean up. Please contact Jennifer Stephens if you would like to be involved in this ministry.
After the 10am service on November 20th, Jennifer Stephens will host a walk-though of updated coffee hour procedures.

Advent Reflection Series
You are invited to journey through Advent with The Womb of Advent by The Rev. Mark Bozzuti-Jones. For each day of Advent, there is a mantra, Scripture reading, questions for reflection, and a spiritual exercise.
Beginning on Thursday December 1st and each Thursday in Advent, you are invited to join a 7 am zoom call to share what has touched you and what has challenged you in your prayer and reflection over the past week. Additionally, you can join in discussion anytime you would like by going to trinityhartford.wordpress.com and adding a comment on the relevant post. In order to allow for relatively private and open sharing, the reflection posts will be password protected. To receive the password, please call Barbara at 860-527-8133 Ext. 204 or email her at office at trinityhartford dot org.
Copies of the book will be available after Church beginning on Sunday, November 20th or may be picked up from the office by arrangement with Barbara.

Trinity's 2022 "Giving Tree" Arrives 11/20!
This Advent, we are continuing Trinity's tradition of a "Giving Tree" - a tree set up in the Sanctuary, loaded with tags that list wishes from students at Trinity Academy and children from the Adopt-A-Social Worker program of Covenant to Care.
Our tree will be up on Sunday, 11/20, with tags for each of the children. Parishioners who wish to participate may chose a tag on this or a subsequent Sunday, purchase the item and place the gift under the tree by Sunday 12/11. We are committed to these children, and it is important that gifts be returned by this date so that they may be distributed.
We will be providing:
- $25 gift cards to either Target or Walmart for 18 students of Trinity Academy (Asylum Hill Congregational Church is providing gift cards for the other 18 students) and:
- Actual gifts as requested for 18 children through Covenant to Care.
With only 3 weeks to shop for and return the gifts, our elves will be busy! Please mark your calendars and plan to join in this festive event.
Questions? Please contact Ruth Rose or Penny Pearson.
