THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
April 14, 2024

Dear George,
We are, with seasonal change, saying 'despidida' prayers for many, and seeing returning friends arrive once more. The streets of San Miguel are quiet in comparison with recent weeks, and a sense of post-Easter Day normalcy is returning. Eastertide continues until the Feast of Pentecost May 19.
I'm sure this means deferred projects are hatching!
Remember, if you plan to view the eclipse April 8, make absolutely certain to use only scientifically approved viewing glasses! My tech savvy cousin tells me that many available on Amazon do not meet safety requirements.
Mid-day Monday April 8th should be great fun, whether viewing or not, as dusk arrives twice in the same day. It may be an interesting moment to read how medieval chroniclers interpreted eclipses and other celestial events HERE.
A Blessed Eastertide

THE DANI FUND
The Dani fund was established 13 years ago, when Dani was first born and brought to St. Paul’s by Papa Daniel. The fund was used to support Dani with diapers, formula and whatever he needed. As a toddler, he went to live with Claudia and Bruce Stuart, though they were unable to adopt him until recently. The Dani fund has been used to help with Dani’s schooling and medical needs. This is still the case, especially in light of Claudia’s death 6 months ago and Bruce’s cancer diagnosis. Dani attends Bereshit Christian School. The fund pays his tuition, textbooks and uniform costs, as well as his medical needs. He has seen a therapist for grief, which the fund also pays for. This has been a rough year for Dani and the fund helps provide him with the stability of a school he likes and therapy to help deal with the changes occurring in his life.
If you have been paying into the Dani fund, either as a one time gift or monthly, thank you. If you are interested in helping, please contact Bonnie Eriksmoen at deriksmoen@aol.com. Your donation is appreciated.
