THE TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

November 10, 2024

Dear George,

We have had a series of most wonderful celebrations, with the Confirmation of 20 persons by Bishop Alma Sally Sue Hernández Garcia, on October 27.

The following All Saints' Triduum we visited a Catrina Factory (blessings to our Senior Warden), observed an interment of Ashes placed into our care on All Soul's Day, and a 5pm Spanish language Eucharist at our exterior Dia de Los Muertos Altar, followed my tamales and the commencement of the Grand Desfile to the Jardin.

All Saints', one of the 7 major Feasts of the Church, was observed on November 3rd, with Ecclesiastical Designer Clifford Chaley presenting our Parament, 4 Orphreys, 2 Burses and Veils and 2 Antependium, commissioned for the parish by the Reverend Canon Dr. Barbara Stewart and Canon Woodward.

This next Saturday and Sunday see our tremendous Christmas Bazaar Saturday and Sunday November 9 and 10. Set up and additional help is very much desired for the November 9 and 10th Holiday Bazaar. Please volunteer to Kathy Lapsys at mklapsys@gmail.com

and then our Remembrance Day Liturgy 10:30am Monday November 11.

Do also procure your tickets for the November 12 Red Cross Gala at the Rosewood.

On a personal note, I have had the joy of celebrating 6 house guests, which explains why I am less accessible than usual. I am in CDMX finally getting the Epistle completed, and will return to SMA on Friday.

Grace and peace,

GFW+

20 persons reveled in Senior Warden Kathy Lapsys 31 October 3rd annual Catrina Factory Visit in Dolores Hildalgo, including a visit to the Catrina Factory, a Mortuary, and happy dining at Angeles: Vincentes for Carnitus and Barbacoa!

Saturday April 2 saw the interment of Ashes committed to our care, followed by a Spanish language Mass on the Grass in observance of All Soul's and blessing our exterior All Souls' Altar. A tamale feast followed, and for many, participation in the desfile to El Jardin

ALL SAINTS' DAY (observed) November 3 saw the blessing of our new Altar parament, Orphreys, Antependium and Burses and Veils, with a presentation by Ecclesiastical Designer Clifford Chaley of Southern California

The third Holiday Bazaar comes to St. Paul's THIS weekend November 9th (9am - 3pm) and10th (11am - 4pm). We have over 12 vendors committed, and can use assistance with set-up, clean-up, silent auction and much else. Please contact mklapsys@gmail.com

REMEMBRANCE DAY reoccurs this coming Monday November 11 at 10:30am in the Church and at the Columbarium as we honor those who have given much, and often all, in defense of liberty and democracy. May these virtues continue to prevail.

Educafe

is one of St. Paul's Community Development Projects. Educafe.org is a Mexican not-for profit raising educational funds from the sale of coffee grown in Oaxaca and Veracruz. Each bag is priced at 200 pesos, of which 87 pesos goes to a project of your selection. The QR code on the back of each bag allows you to select the project of your choice, a few of which support St. Paul's Community Development Project. Parishioner Geoffrey Drayton leads this effort, and welcomes all questions.
