THE SECOND SUNDAY IN PENTECOST

JUNE 2, 2024

Dear George, 26 was the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the only Feast Day in Anglicanism to celebrate a dogma/doctrine!

This Sunday May The Metropolitans or chief Archbishops of each Anglican Province (called 'Primates') meet every 10 years at the Lambeth Conference held in Canterbury. Not this year. In May, for the first time, they met in Rome HERE where the Archbishop of Canterbury celebrated an Anglican Mass in a Roman Catholic basilica. The Primates were addressed by the Bishop of Rome, the Pope HERE. Schismatic Anglican Primates from Africa (and who fly under a false Anglican flag in the U.S.). This is an ecumenical development worth watching.

Our beloved Joe Whitmore celebrated his 86 birthday today and seemed intent on cake following Eucharist!

I am happy to report that both Fr. Michael Long and I had conversation with Ken McCutheon's great-neice, Megan, in Ohio this week. We are providing the family with legal materials that will allow them to establish conservatorship. Ken in at 'The Cascades' in Montrose, Texas near Houston, is very well cared for and in good physical shape. His cognitive impairment has continued, and he will, depending on the family, likely remain at the Cascades. There is no likelihood that Ken will again return to Mexico.

This coming Sunday liturgies (June 9) will be as usual. We are, sadly, cancelling all liturgies June 16 because of The Locos Parade, which makes access to and egress from St. Paul's impossible.

Blessed Pentecost Season!

GFW+

Local Episcopalian Charlie Hall has overcome enormous personal disabilities, and has, for the last 18 years, operated the Rose Ann Hall candle and glass factory on the road to Dolores Hidalgo. Most of his employees are disabled, and receive extensive training in personal values, the importance of education, and the operation of sophisticated machinery. Most of his product ex exported to the United States. Charlie has provided our Altar Candles free of charge sin 2006, and has invited the parish for a tour!

As we look around us, we see our friends, our fellow parishioners, and we realize that we are a family brought together by faith and love. As a family, we pray for one another and we check up on one another.

One way to ensure that the health and safety of each of us is intact, is to have a partner who will call us, not to talk, but to check on us. A twenty second call could save your life or that of your partner. If you or your partner fail to answer the phone, a neighbor or friend with a key will be sent to check on you.

So what do you need to do to start this process? 1. EMAIL pattijain@gmail.com with your name and phone number.

2. Make a copy of your key and ask a friend or neighbor if he/she can be called on to check on you in an emergency. 3. Wait to hear from me. I hope that I can organize a partner for you in less than a week.

St. Paul's Community Development Project is launching a monthly donation effort following the success of the Reverse Advent Project. Parishioners are invited to pick up a grocery item monthly and place it in the large box in the parish hall, to then be distributed to those in need.

June: Canned meats (spam, tuna or chicken)

July: Canned vegetables or fruits

THE DANI FUND

The Dani fund was established 13 years ago, when Dani was first born and brought to St. Paul’s by Papa Daniel. The fund was used to support Dani with diapers, formula and whatever he needed. As a toddler, he went to live with Claudia and Bruce Stuart, though they were unable to adopt him until recently. The Dani fund has been used to help with Dani’s schooling and medical needs. This is still the case, Dani attends Bereshit Christian School. The fund pays his tuition, textbooks and uniform costs, as well as his medical needs. He has seen a therapist for grief, which the fund also pays for. This has been a rough year for Dani and the fund helps provide him with the stability of a school he likes and therapy to help deal with the changes occurring in his life.

If you have been paying into the Dani fund, either as a one time gift or monthly, thank you. If you are interested in helping, please contact Bonnie Eriksmoen at deriksmoen@aol.com. Your donation is appreciated.

Educafe

is one of St. Paul's Community Development Projects. Educafe.org is a Mexican not-for profit raising educational funds from the sale of coffee grown in Oaxaca and Veracruz. Each bag is priced at 200 pesos, of which 87 pesos goes to a project of your selection. The QR code on the back of each bag allows you to select the project of your choice, a few of which support St. Paul's Community Development Project. Parishioner Geoffrey Drayton leads this effort, and welcomes all questions. Want to see what your coffee purchases are achieving? Glance below:
