ANNOUNCEMENTS

Message from the Rector

As we emerge from the post-Holy Week, Easter Sunday lull (just look at the updated calendar of upcoming events directly below!!), I am thrilled to witness the vibrancy of our congregation. Last night's Episcopal 101 session was a testament to our shared journey of faith, with 16 individuals embracing this learning opportunity. The diversity within the group, spanning from newcomers to seasoned members of over 60 years, beautifully reflects the inclusive spirit of our church. Witnessing everyone engage and grow together fills my heart with joy.

This Sunday holds a special treat as we welcome the Rev. Cara Rockhill as our guest preacher. Cara is not only a dear friend and colleague but also a proud native of Calvert County. Her roots in our community deepen the connection we share, and I eagerly anticipate the wisdom she will impart.

And, it is the third Sunday of the month, so come with empty stomachs and full wallets to enjoy the Outreach Breakfast, which takes place between services. All are welcome--bring your friends!

Let us continue to cherish these moments of fellowship and learning, for they enrich our spiritual journey and strengthen our bond as a community. May the grace of God guide us as we embrace the opportunities for growth and connection that lie ahead.

Project Spudnik

All work sessions are from 10 AM to noon.
Project Spudnik has 2 scheduled work sessions: April 13 and 27. This is because rain canceled our March 23 session. We hope you can join us as we play in the dirt to make things grow. Perhaps even in our new high beds! Come check them out!

Bring your gloves! Bring your tools! Bring a friend! Spend Saturday from 10 am to noon in the Spudnik garden. We made lots of dirt last week and now can fill more grow bags to plant transplants (broccoli, cabbage, and Brussel sprouts) and seeds (beets, spinach, carrots, lettuce, kale and radish). Check out our new high beds and see which have sprouts just peeking up from the dirt!

Calvert Arts Festival (CAF) Campus Clean Up April 27th(May 4th rain date)

The 18th Calvert Arts Festival is around the corner on May 11th. The campus clean up is planned for April 27th 9 AM - 1 PM or May 4th 10 AM - 1 PM (Rain Date).  To prepare for the festival we need your help to clean up the campus grounds of downed limbs, leaves and other brush. This will help beautify the campus for festival vendors, visitors and parishioners for the spring and summer seasons.

Come join fellow parishioners. Bring your family, friends, rakes, tarps, gloves, blowers, wheelbarrows. ECW will once again provide refreshments, snacks and a lite lunch. If there are questions please contact Glenn Iona, Filo Blake or David Lippe. Their contact information is in the Sunday service bulletins or the online Instant Church Directory.

Calvert Arts Festival News

Stay tuned here in the newsletter for CAF news and updates!

By now, we hope that all our Parish family members are planning to participate in the 18th Annual Calvert Arts Festival. If you have never been to our Arts Festival, it's a wonderful day for the entire family. Delicious food vendors, talented artisans, music and relaxation, wine and beer tastings, children's crafts, some interesting history - you name it, there is something for everyone.

We are only three weeks away from the 18th Annual Calvert Arts Festival and excitement is increasing. Signs have gone up throughout the county inviting the Calvert community to the All Saints Campus for a day of fun and festivities.

Calling All All Saints' Bakers!

Baked Goods are needed for the ECW Bake Sale at the 2024 Calvert Arts Festival! We need you to bring your favorite baked items for us to fill our table. Cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, bread, and candy will be welcomed and will have a temporary home on our Baked Goods table. Artisans typically search out our table before the festival begins to have something delicious to munch on during the day. Our event guests are always in search of a snack or a yummy dessert to take home. You can help our fundraising efforts and keep our Calvert community happy by baking for us. The more baked goodies, the merrier! If you have any questions, please call or text Deb Shupe (410-231-8150).

The Calvert Arts Festival Silent Auction Needs Your Help With Theme Baskets!

Make your contribution to the Calvert Arts Festival by creating a themed gift basket for the Silent Auction. Movie night, Spa Day, Date night, Wine and/or beer basket are just a few of the ideas. What about a dine across Calvert package with gift cards from a restaurant/s in northern, central and southern Calvert County? This Auction is a major source of income for our CAF Charities, so consider putting together a basket for the Silent Auction this year.

Please contact Mary or Joe Klausner by email at Klaus-acct@comcast.net before May 6th if youhave items to donate. They will ask for a photo, description and fair market value for each basket. Items can be brought to the Church School room upstairs in the parish hall.
