Skills Night: Basic Plant ID & Useful Guides
Monday May 17 2021, 8 pm

You can eat this, but don't touch that! Plants in the wild can provide for us - though sometimes not quite what we expected! Some plants are easily distinguishable, others have many look-a-likes. Let's take a look at some of the common plants that we'd like to find and the ones we'll recognize to avoid. We'll also highlight some guidebooks, apps and websites that are useful in this neck of the woods.

Welcome to Shining Waters Council's New CYC, Mandy Chung

We are very excited to announce our new CYC, Mandy Chung. Mandy is a Rover Scout with 5th Unionville and a student at the University of Toronto; she has served in a council role previously as the Area Youth Commissioner of York Headwaters.

Mandy is keen to start her work in the CK3 and we are keen to have her on our K3 and in leading our Council.

Much gratitude goes to Jason Gingrich whose term has come to an end. His contributions to council and our movement have been undeniable. We will be hosting a proper send-off for Jason in the near future and we forward to celebrating his tenure as CYC in person one day soon!

Mandy can be reached at [email protected].
Reminder: Special Survey: First Aid Trainers; Deadline Approaching

If you are a trainer of first aid with an organization other than St. John Ambulance, we'd like to hear from you! We've built a survey to find out more about you.

The survey is to help build a first aid training team for our council. Please do take the time to read and submit your response.
