Dear Family Members & Responsible Parties,
I am writing to share an update with you about COVID-19 cases at Weinberg Campus. As of today, we have had a total of four confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our main Campus.
- As we previously shared, we were notified on March 20 that a Dosberg Manor resident tested positive. The individual was sent to the hospital on March 9, was transferred from the hospital to Rosa Coplon Rehabilitation Unit on March 17 and transferred back to the hospital on March 18. The individual remains in the hospital for treatment.
- A part-time employee in Rosa Coplon Living Center who contracted the virus has been quarantined at home for the past two weeks. Individuals who were in direct contact with the employee were personally notified and monitored for symptoms.
- A second resident of Dosberg Manor was sent to the hospital on March 26. It is with an extremely sad heart that I share the upsetting news that this individual passed away in the hospital over the weekend due to complications from the virus. All of us at Weinberg Campus are keeping this resident’s friends and family members in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
- A staff member at Dosberg Manor was diagnosed on April 4. Those who were in direct contact with the employee have been notified and are being monitored for symptoms.
We are continuing to make every possible effort to protect our residents and employees from the spread of COVID-19. We are continuing to follow all guidelines issued by health and government agencies, including extreme hand hygiene, wearing masks at all times, keeping a 6-foot distance from others whenever possible, and disinfecting high touch surfaces.
As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout Erie County and New York State, I encourage you to remain at home as much as possible. I understand that this is a very stressful time for all of us. If you have questions or concerns you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact me or any one of our administrators.
Stay safe and healthy,
