You have the option to remain anonymous when reporting if you so choose. You may file a report via telephone at 1.855.375.6527 or online at
www.allianceforbetterhealthcare.ethicspoint.com.
What About You?
Does your practice have positive news and developments to share? Is a provider speaking at a conference? Did a member of your team earn a degree? Have you made progress on a GPRO measure?

It Takes a Village (and dedicated point people)!
As you are probably aware, now through March 11, 2016 constitutes the Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) reporting period for measures collected throughout 2015. GPRO is the IT solution CMS uses to collect specific data required to document a network's fulfillment of measures and ultimate performance for a given year. Practices joining IHANY effective January 1, 2016 will not be reporting on measures from 2015, though all practices (those who joined in 2016 as well as those who joined in 2015) are currently in the measurement phase of our second year (2016). More information on the current measurement phase is included below.

We have been working together all year to prepare for GPRO reporting on 2015. Your cooperation has been essential and positions us positively to address reporting requirements. Thank you for your ongoing active participation!

Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative (MAeHC), the consulting group who visited practices over the fall to perform gap analyses related to practices' electronic medical records, has begun record abstractions required for GPRO reporting.

Integral to the success of the abstraction process is the cooperation of staff at our member practices. Toward that end, each organization or practice has designated a point person to assist MAeHC representatives when necessary. MAeHC will perform the majority of the abstraction work remotely; however, where paper records are used, or other impediments to remote abstraction exist, having a point person at each practice will ensure we collectively fulfill all requirements of GPRO reporting effectively and efficiently within CMS' guidelines.

Thank you to the following who have made themselves available as point people at their practice to assist us in this process:

Jade Litchfield
Ellis Medicine
Jennifer Edge
St. Peter's Health Partners

Donna Meyers and Sean McLaughlin
Cardiology Associates of Schenectady
Sue Raiano
Schenectady Pulmonary
Dr. Skory and Julie Bazzell
Hometown Health Centers
Rebecca Hancock
St. Mary's Healthcare
Marianne Ostrander
Five Corners Family Practice

If you have any questions or concerns throughout the reporting period, please contact me, James Renner at [email protected], or any of the IHANY staff, here to support you.
Best regards,

IHANY Welcomes

As IHANY and the DSRIP Performing Provider System (PPS), Alliance for Better Health Care continue to leverage synergies between the organizations with similar missions, IHANY is pleased to announce the addition of staff members who also share responsibility for their respective functions at Alliance.

IHANY SPOTLIGHT: 2016 Quality Measures
As GPRO reporting for 2015 begins, it is also time to begin documenting 2016 measures that are required for quality reporting in the current year. The ability of the IHANY network to improve on its quality reporting is a fundamental measure in how CMS judges the success of the network and determines how much of a savings the network would retain, when applicable.

In addition to the 33 measures practices are accustomed to tracking throughout 2015, 2016 includes one new measure: Statin Therapy for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease.

Beginning in March, IHANY staff and representatives from Massachusetts e-Health Collaborative (MAeHC) will work with each new 2016 practice in the network to perform a data gap analysis, in order to help practices accurately record required measures. IHANY staff will then work with practices to remediate any issues prior to reporting in January of 2017.

Quality takes on an even greater importance in 2016 (year two); however, without accurate reporting at all practices, the network will not meet its requirements in order to be eligible for potential shared savings.

IHANY staff will provide extensive support and education on GPRO and associated measures throughout the year. If you have any questions at any time, please contact:

James Renner: [email protected] l 701-2200.
On the Move in IHANY
Staff at IHANY are dedicated to providing friendly, effective and efficient support and leadership to all members of the network. In recognition of their exceptional service, two members of the team have recently been promoted:

Lisa Kelly-Armstrong has been named Director of Network Management and Operations for IHANY as well as Alliance for Better Health Care.

Providers and practice managers know Lisa well - as their go-to resource for information on CMS requirements, host of the monthly practice manager call, and in any way she can, supporting practices to be successful in the ACO.

Lynn Migliore has been named Office Manager for both IHANY and Alliance for Better Health Care.

Lynn is the first face one sees when arriving at the IHANY offices. She provides a friendly welcome and assistance to guests in addition to managing the administrative functions necessary to keep not one, but two start-up organizations running efficiently.

JANUARY HEALTH WATCH

Two important health issues designate January as an awareness month: Cervical Health and Glaucoma. While neither of these health issues are related to MSSP performance measures, we encourage you to take this opportunity to review your practice policies around screening, and ensure you have updated and effective prevention techniques in place.
