A Note from Scott and Marsha
March 25, 2021
I think we are so close to saying, "Goodbye winter. Hello spring!" I actually try to avoid saying it out loud for fear we are hit with a late frost that damages all the new blooms and growth. Does anyone remember the cold snap we had two years ago? I think it was two years ago... it was 10 days past our normal frost date, and we were scrambling bringing everything inside. If there was floor space under your desk, "move your feet". We needed it. LOL!

In our world, some things come late and some things come early. And y'all. This little bundle of preciousness I'm holding came 10 days early. I had predicted her birth date would be March 13th at the baby shower. IKR?!

Meet our family's newest Squishy. Scott and I are grandparents for the first time and we are absolutely head over heels in love already! Halle Claire arrived at 12:38am on March 13th weighing 7lbs 8.5oz and 20" long. She is perfect. Mom, Dad and baby are all perfect.

Fortunately, with them living only 20 minutes away, I was able to have sleepovers and stay to help them get settled and be extra hands. Taking care of babies really isn't that different than taking care of plants. With plants, you water/feed them, trim their leaves, talk to them, touch them, and turn them so they grow evenly all around.

So for Halle, we pretty much treat her like a plant with love pouring out of our hearts for her. It was the absolute best week ever. I spent several nights. When I wasn't caring for her or holding her, I was cooking food, making snacks, and doing laundry/cleaning. I felt very fortunate to participate and appreciated that Erica and Daniel didn't mind the extra help. My mom was the absolute best when we had Erica, our first. We had a great teacher/example, so this was a no brainer for us.

Upon her arrival, we had previously/sort of picked our names to be called but once we saw her in person, we knew immediately the official names.  Halle Claire, Grandmommy and Granddaddy are smitten with you and can't wait to introduce you to our world!

If you don't have a squishy to be smitten with, it's ok. Squishies aren't for everyone. But plants are. If you can keep a plant alive, you are light years ahead of many people. If you are thinking about a Squishy, maybe start with a plant first. It's more cost effective to start there, teaches lots of patience, and if something happens, no one shows up at your door asking questions. Other than maybe us .... if you keep coming back to purchase more plants because you can't keep it alive, we might need to put you on a probation period. We care that much :)  See you this spring for all things blooming!
