Ministerial Transition Update
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce Reverend Dawn S. Cooley will be joining UTUUC as our Interim Minister!

Rev. Dawn grew up in the Washington, DC suburbs but she and her spouse left the area after college. They lived in Minneapolis for nearly 10 years, where both their children were born and she graduated from seminary. Rev. Dawn comes to us most recently from Louisville, KY, where she and her family moved in 2009 when she was called as the minister of First Unitarian Church. After serving that congregation for seven years, Rev. Dawn stayed in Louisville and worked for the UUA as Congregational Life Staff for the Southern Region. Most recently, she has been putting her Masters in Public Administration to use as both the Executive Director of Kentucky Interfaith Power & Light and as the Coordinator of her brainchild, the Kentucky UU Justice Action Network. You can learn even more about Rev. Cooley on her website.

Rev. Cooley will be joining us on August 1, 2021. We expect Rev. Cooley to be with us for two years. In that time, we will first come to grips with where we are as a congregation, then, through careful discernment, where we ought to be heading. We don’t yet know what the next step beyond a 2-year Interim Ministry will be. The possibilities are multiple, but we can’t look that far ahead.

Rev. Cooley has already been in contact with our leadership staff. Please stay tuned for more information about this ongoing ministerial transition after June 30, 2021.

Welcome, Reverend Dawn Cooley!!
