DEAR VALUED PARTNERS,
This year’s Global Summit is just around the corner, and the Crescent City is poised to Welcome All Y’all April 24-27 to the Higgins Hotel for a three-day huddle with industry experts and international media to position the Southern region to increase its market share. Springtime temps, paired with the history, culture and unmatched cuisine of New Orleans, are the perfect backdrop for telling the stories of the authentic South.
Registration opens at noon on Monday, April 24, as our pre-FAMs arrive. We have 46 journalists scouring the South on 13 FAM trips to discover stories, hidden gems and that authentic angle that will inspire millions of consumers worldwide to plan a trip to the South. Monday evening, please join us for an opening reception at the WWII Museum adjoining the Higgins Hotel sponsored by the Louisiana Office of Tourism.
Tuesday promises a distinguished list of speakers to gain insight into analyzing data, connecting globally, marketing, utilizing international media and climbing to the summit with Travel South all while our journalist guests are exploring NOLA. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, but on the 2nd floor of the Higgins, join us for a true New Orleans happy hour sponsored by New Orleans and Company! Finish the night by exploring New Orleans and its numerous restaurants, promising Louisiana’s finest.
On Wednesday, begin your day with a breakfast sponsored by the Louisiana Office of Tourism. Immediately following is the inaugural year of Media Marketplace, where PR suppliers will have the rare opportunity for pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings with a bevy of top-tier international journalists. Enjoy lunch with musical entertainment sponsored by Alabama Tourism in between Media Marketplace sessions. Also taking place on Wednesday is Global Innovation Challenge, with a lunch for our vendors and state tourism staff to connect. Immediately following the buying session, Travel South will conduct its board meeting. Completing the day will be a Whiskey Notes with Tennessee happy hour sponsored by Tennessee Tourism. If you haven’t eaten enough delicious food, use your last night to experience yet another amazing New Orleans restaurant!
Looking forward to a great Global Summit experience in New Orleans with more than 200 people all focused on the goal of $10 billion in international visitor spending by 2026!
Sincerely,
Doug Bourgeois, Assistant Secretary, Louisiana Office of Tourism & Chairman, Travel South USA Board of Directors
