⚒️ What Parents Don't Always See Behind the Scenes 😎

PCEF is a silent supporter that so many people don’t realize is there. From the very beginning of a student’s journey all the way through high school, so many of the initiatives and ideas teachers have – to be innovative, to try something new, to get new materials – come from the foundation."

After nearly 15 years with the Park City School District, Tracy Fike has seen firsthand how PCEF helps educators turn ideas into opportunities for students – and how those ideas can grow into programs that benefit students throughout the district.

🍎 Why PCEF Matters to Every Student ❤️

Great Public Schools Start with Strong Community Support

PCEF started 40 years ago when a teacher wanted to send two students to a Stanford University Space Camp. A group of community members got together to fund the trip, which kicked off Park City Education Foundation. What started then as a $2,000 grant has grown today into nearly $2 million in annual funding for Park City's students, teachers, and schools.

PCEF donors will help fund more than $1.8 million in grants and programming for the 2026-27 school year.

PCEF 101: What is PCEF?

PCEF is the "X-Factor" behind so many programs throughout our schools.

PCEF exists to do something traditional school funding alone can't always do: give educators the extra resources and support to bring new ideas to life, respond to emerging needs, and deepen the learning experience for students.

We help great ideas become a reality. The best ideas for students start with the people who know them best – educators. PCEF funds educator-powered initiatives to pilot an idea, bring tools and resources into classrooms, expand something successful, or create an entirely new opportunity.

We can say "yes" to opportunities that fall outside of traditional school funding. School budgets have to cover the essentials – PCEF adds a layer of innovation, enrichment, and programming that otherwise might not exist.

We can be nimble. When a need presents itself, PCEF can respond. That flexibility allows our schools to try new things, adapt, or address changing student needs right away.

We support students throughout their education. PCEF isn't focused on one age, or one student. From preschool and elementary classrooms to afterschool, wellness, middle school classrooms, real world learning, CTE, and high school classrooms, PCEF cultivates success for students by funding initiatives that inspire all Park City students to successfully reach their academic and lifelong potential.

PCEF connects our community with our schools. It's how PCEF began 40 years ago, and it's still at the heart of what we do today. Park City has a long legacy of valuing education, and PCEF gives families, local businesses, and community members a way to be part of what happens in our schools. Together, that support helps enhance learning in our district by investing in the next generation who will make an impact in our community and beyond.
