The Fall 2012 Session at the Portsmouth Music and Arts Center begins TODAY! We look forward to welcoming you back to PMAC - or meeting you if this is your first time enrolling in a PMAC program. This year promises to be our best yet, with art classes for all ages, private lessons in art or music, more ensembles than ever, and classes such as Music Theory and Michelle Samdperil's Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction Writing Workshops. Additionally, our Expressive Therapies program, launched in 2011, continues to grow led by Certified Music Therapist Virginia Macdonald and Art Therapist Laura Beaudoin. There is something for everyone this fall at PMAC!

 Nick Phaneuf (guitar, bass, electronic music, rock bands) Nick Phaneuf performs throughout the East Coast with bands Tan Vampires, Dan Blakeslee and the Calabash Club, fiveighthirteen and Spinal Tarp. He has taught exclusively at PMAC since 2008 as a private instructor and leads PMAC's Rock Bands. Nick lives in Dover with his wife Michaela and their dogs, Aqua and Stormy.
Steve Roy
(upright and electric bass, mandolin, guitar, fiddle, bluegrass ensemble)
While at UNH, Steve studied upright bass with John Hunter. For the past ten years, he has been teaching and performing with a myriad of bands, both locally and internationally. Known mostly as a bass player of many styles, he also plays and teaches mandolin, guitar, and fiddle. He has toured with artists such as Laurie Lewis and Tom Rozum, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Hit and Run Bluegrass, Spring Creek Bluegrass, The Brakemen, and many more.Locally, he currently performs with Jazzputin and the Jug Skunks, Grassputin, Spinal Tarp, The Stowaways, Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection, David Surette, The Mill City Ramblers, any many more. Steve lives in Portland, Maine and also works as an archaeologist throughout New England.
Eric Klaxton
(saxophone, piano, music theory)
Eric is well versed in the Western European Classical tradition, but has chosen to pursue Jazz among other contemporary musics. Despite the formal degree in performance, he feels a responsibility as a musician to teach his craft and pass along the traditions that have made him the musician he is today. In addition to saxophone, Eric also plays and teaches piano.
