WELCOME BACK!
The Clear Creek Independent School District is excited to welcome the rest of our Brick and Mortar students back to campuses on Monday, September 14, 2020.

We understand this time has been filled with challenges, uncertainty and changes for you and your student. We are committed to keeping our CCISD families informed every step of the way and providing a safe environment for students as we make this final transition to in-person learning.

This email will outline all the information and protocols you should know for a successful first week back to Brick and Mortar on Monday. Please also keep up-to-date through our COVID-19 webpage.
Check out the video and photos from our initial phase in of Brick and Mortar from August 31, 2020.
FIRST DAY CHECKLIST
We've put together some of the top reminders for Brick and Mortar elementary and secondary students in an easily printable format. Click the image to open the PDF version.
ALL GRADES
  • Health Assessment – Complete the self-health assessment of your children every day before sending them to school. The assessment can be found online. If you say yes to any of the questions, please keep your children home and self-report through Skyward Family Access.
  • Face covering – Students are required to wear a face covering. You might also want to pack an extra mask just in case. Disposable masks will be available on campus if needed.
  • Water bottle – Water fountains are off limits this year due to COVID-19. Refillable water stations are available. It is recommended you send an extra water bottle with your student.
  • Laptops- Students who have a district-issued laptop and charger, don't forget to bring it to school.
  • No visitors will be allowed in the cafeteria due to social distancing requirements. Parents may make an appointment with the campus to visit their child’s classroom off school hours. Please understand this is for everyone's safety and each teacher will communicate daily routines and celebrations with parents.
ELEMENTARY REMINDERS
  • Easy-Open Lunch – Pack a lunch with items that your child can easily open on their own.
  • REMINDER: The car rider line may take longer than usual the first week due to more parents choosing to drive their children to school. Please allow more time and be patient as we work through the logistics.
SECONDARY REMINDERS
  • Backpacks Intermediate students will not use lockers this year. Please be mindful of the the weight of your student's backpack.
  • If you can, please consider packing a lunch for the first week to help limit the amount of students in the cafeteria line.
  • Intermediate and high school students will bring their laptop to and from school each day.
SCHOOL START TIMES
Set those alarms! Clear Creek ISD added an extra ten minutes onto the school day to allow for more cleaning and hand washing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Take a look at the chart below to find out what time your child needs to be on campus.
2020-2021 CCISD DRESS CODE
Just as with any school year, Brick and Mortar students will need to follow the CCISD Dress Code while on campus. You can find the approved 2020-2021 Dress Code here. These guidelines also apply to masks and face coverings.

Please contact your child’s school to verify if there is a standardized dress code and to obtain a list of the dress code guidelines.
FACE COVERINGS
Face coverings will follow the same rules as the dress code. Disobeying these rules could lead to a dress code violation.
All students, staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings in schools, especially during arrival, dismissal and between bells. When a safe distance of 6 feet is maintained students and staff may remove their face covering.

For students who cannot wear a face covering for developmental or medical reasons, parents may request an accommodation, such as a face shield. Such requests must be made in advance with the campus principal.

Click here for the full list of guidelines.
Schools have been working diligently to develop plans and protocols for elementary and secondary level classrooms. Each school and classroom will handle these new challenges differently. Watch this video to get a peak at what your child's class might look like this school year.
TRANSPORTATION
Watch this video to learn more about our new transportation protocol.
  • If you can bring your child to and from school, please do so as social distancing on school buses will not be possible.

  • If riding a school bus, all riders shall wear a face covering that always covers their nose and mouth.

  • Extra face coverings and hand sanitizer will be available if students arrive at the bus stop without a face covering.

  • Parent or adult supervision is recommended at the bus stop to ensure students are social distancing and/or wearing a face covering.
COVID-19 STANDARD RESPONSE PROTOCOL
The Clear Creek Independent School District has developed a COVID-19 Standard Response Protocol to outline the actions the school district will take to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in schools and support facilities.

It is important to follow health guidelines such as wear a face covering in public places, keep a distance of 6 feet, wash hands frequently and stay home if you are not feeling well.
Employees are required to take a daily self-health assessment and parents are asked to do the same for their students.
COVID-19 NOTIFICATION

The CCISD Office of Communications will update your child's campus website and send out an email if there is a positive COVID-19 case at their school.

PLEASE NOTE: The confirmed cases only reflect cases where a student or staff member entered a CCISD building within 48 hours of a positive test.

If there is no update, the graphic will remain the same. Check your campus website regularly for changes.
EXAMPLE
HEALTH ASSESSMENT
Before school each day, please conduct a health assessment on your child. Our teachers and staff will do the same before coming to work each day. This step is crucial in keeping our employees and students safe this school year.

If you answer 'yes' to any of the questions, parents/guardians are required to keep students home and report symptoms through Skyward Family Access.
Brick and Mortar Livestream
CCISD leaders talk through what students can expect for the first week of Brick and Mortar in this special edition of our podcast, Car Rider Line.
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
CCISD put together these informational videos to help with the transition to Brick and Mortar. Take a look to learn more about our new protocols or visit our website for more information.

SCHOOL SAFETY
CCISD uses the Emergency Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for school-
related emergencies, which is endorsed by the Texas School Safety Center for its nationally recognized terminology. New this year is that there has been a change to the term used for "Lockout," which will now be called "Secure." Click here to learn the terminology.

Download a PDF of the SRP and keep it handy at home in the unlikely event of a school emergency.
Be sure to download our CCISD Alerts App so you can stay informed. We recommend students do this as well. Parents can also include their student’s cell phone number through Skyward Family Access. Students can then opt-in to receive emergency text messages. This option is only for students in grades 6-12.
Clear Creek ISD has an anonymous tip reporting system. Click here to fill out the form. This feature is also available on the CCISD Alerts mobile app.
