Each year, NM Agriculture in the Classroom celebrates an innovative NM educator in grades K-12 that regularly incorporates agriculture into their curriculum. The application for this award is now open.

The application for the CHS Foundation Classroom Grant is now available. Prekindergarten - 12th-grade teachers with agriculture-related projects in need of funding are invited to apply.
Projects funded in the past include school gardens, embryology projects, and other initiatives that help teachers use agricultural concepts to teach reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. Learn more about previously funded projects. Fifteen $500 grants will be awarded.
The deadline for applications is Sept. 15

The Hands on Banking program is a free, public, non-commercial, financial capability program offering resources and courses designed for instructor-led group learning or self-paced individual use.
It is comprised of two websites, the Main Hands on Banking website and the Hands on Banking for Youth website. The main Hands on Banking website has financial education resources for adults, small businesses, seniors, and the military. The Hands on Youth Banking website has financial education courses designed for Elementary School (K – 5th grade), Middle School (6th – 8th grade), and High School (9th grade – College age).

Thanks to a partnership with NRCS, 12 raised bed kits are headed out to grant recipients! Teachers, students, and community members have come together to create outdoor science labs that even include hoop and drip irrigation system materials!

Applications for White-Reinhardt Scholarships to the 2022 National Ag in the Classroom Conference for full-time educators and/or volunteers that actively participate in classroom ag literacy programs or events are now being accepted. This scholarship program is to provide travel expense funds to attend the national conference and then use the information gained to expand their outreach to students regarding food, fiber, and fuel.

The grant award includes $9,000 to help facilitate K-5 "In the Field" workshops and educational resources for teachers at the new Hatch Valley Ag STEM Academy. Teachers have already begun training!

Journey 2050 "It all starts with a single step."
Journey 2050 is a free, online program on world food sustainability that includes a virtual simulation game.
Designed for grades 7-12, the game created by Nutrien, Ltd., provides students with an opportunity to consider the question: “How will we sustainably feed nearly 10 billion people by the year 2050?”
Topics covered by the game and related lessons are; sustainability, plant and soil health, water, economy, land use, culture, careers, and new technology.
