Support following the loss of a beloved colleague
Last week we learned of the tragic passing of Professor Ray de Leon from a heart attack. A Cal State LA faculty member since 2001, de Leon was the director of the School of Kinesiology, created the University’s Mobility Center, and was a beloved colleague, friend, and mentor to many on campus. The sudden loss of a colleague and friend can leave us struggling with a range of emotions. Staff and faculty may find counseling assistance through the Employee Assistance Program, LifeMatters, by calling 1-800-367-7474 or visiting the LifeMatters website. Should you have any questions about the program or need the company password, please email askhrm@calstatela.edu. A memorial page for de Leon has been created and will be updated as information about services becomes available.

Circle Drive reopens for vehicular traffic
A stretch of Circle Drive on the south end of campus has been reopened to vehicles. With the reopening of the road, buses are again picking up and dropping off at the Transit Center on the south side of campus. Those who park in Parking Structure B can now enter and exit the structure off Circle Drive. The reopening of the road will help with the flow of vehicular traffic entering and leaving campus. However, the area will remain closed to pedestrians through September while sidewalks are being replaced.
