It's almost that time again! As we gear up for a new school year, I want to send a huge welcome back to all of our students, families, teachers, and staff. The start of the school year always brings this fantastic energy, and I can't wait to see our schools buzzing with activity again. We've been busy all summer getting things ready for our students, and I'm confident that together, we'll make this a year where every student can learn, grow, and truly shine. We’re so excited to be on this journey with you.

Everyone had a blast at the Perseverance Golf Tournament this past Monday! The primary goal of the annual Perseverance Golf Tournament is to raise funds for the Perseverance Scholarship* for Douglas County graduates, but it was also great way to see DCSD staff connect prior to the start of the 2025-26 school year.

Our deepest thanks to our presenting sponsor Denver Athletic, breakfast sponsor Bryan Construction and lunch sponsor Total Welding, Inc.. This year, the tournament raised nearly $17,500!

School Supply Drive Update!

Our Lend A Hand School Supply Drive has been actively running this summer, aiming to collect, purchase, assemble, and distribute backpacks and essential school supplies to students in need. This year, we are on track to provide 1,700 backpacks filled with age-appropriate materials.

Lend A Hand is dedicated to ensuring that every student begins the 2025-2026 school year equipped with the supplies necessary for success. This initiative remains viable thanks to the generous support from our community partners and individuals.

Imagine, Invent, Innovate

Imagine a classroom where innovation thrives and students are truly engaged. Opportunity Grants make that vision a reality. We champion outstanding educators, investing in their pathway development and providing the resources to bring their most groundbreaking ideas to life.

2025 -2026 Opportunity Grant applications open Tuesday, Sept 2, and close Friday, Oct. 3.

These grants are the bedrock of a vibrant community that believes in the power of education. Made possible by generous individuals and corporate partners, they prioritize projects that foster innovation and leadership in teaching. Through these initiatives, the Foundation elevates the educational journey for every student.
