Artwork Spotlight
Ganesha Temple Panel
Ganesha is one of the best known of the Hindu deities. He is worshipped as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the god of intellect and wisdom.
Ganesha is represented as a pot-bellied, elephant headed being, with one tusk intact and the other broken.
The example in our collection is an intricately carved wood panel from the 20th century.
Last Saturday at the Museum
Georgia O' Keeffe
July 31, 2021
Our Last Saturday event for July was all about the artist Georgia O'Keeffe.
We started out by reading the book Georgia's Bones to the children. When we finished the book, we split into 4 groups. The 3 children's groups worked on 3 different projects, all based on the artwork of O'Keeffe. We also had 1 group of parents who worked on a teacher-led flower painting.
Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our first event of the school year!
A huge thank you to all of our high school students who voluteered and helped set up materials, worked with the students and then stayed to help clean up.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events!
