Happy FDOC (First Day of Class)! The Spring 2025 semester is underway, and we are looking forward to another wonderful semester. Our office is dedicated to partnering with you in your journey to make The Forest your home.

One way we do that is by sharing important information with you via email. As a helpful tip, please be sure to read your emails thoroughly. While they may contain a lot of information, rest assured that every detail is important, including this one.

Please take a look below for information on Spring 2025 Occupancy Verification, Meal Plans, Guide to Community Living reminders, and important dates, including the 2025-2026 dates.

Occupancy Verification

All residents are required to complete their Occupancy Verification by Sunday, January 26 at 11:59 p.m., via the Housing Portal.

Once logged in, you’ll need to follow the steps outlined here. Completing Occupancy Verification lets us know you have moved into your assigned room and have working keys to your room.

Meal Plan Adjustments

The deadline to decrease your Spring 2025 Meal Plan has now passed.

The deadline to increase your Spring 2025 Meal Plan is January 31, 2025. You can increase your meal plan by visiting the Housing Portal.

Guide to Community Living Reminders

Open Flame Policy: Candles, incense, and similar items producing an open-flame are not allowed in Residence Life and Housing facilities. Candle warmers and similar hot plate items are also prohibited.

Electrical Appliance Policy: Appliances that may not be used or stored in the residence halls include, but are not limited to: dehumidifiers, diffusers (including essential oil), electric blankets, electric skillets, humidifiers, plug-in air fresheners, and space heaters.

Electrical Adaptors and Extensions Policy: Only Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) approved power strips with an on/off switch and surge protection are allowed. All other electrical extensions (i.e. unapproved extension cords, outlet splitters, plug-in air fresheners, bed-risers with power outlets, etc.) will be confiscated.

Important Dates

Wednesday, January 22: 2025-2026 Housing Application Opens

March 8 - March 16: Residence Halls remain open for Spring Break

April 14 - April 17: 2025-2026 Housing Selection

Thursday, May 8: Communities close at 2 p.m. for non-seniors, unless approved for Interim Housing.

Tuesday, May 20: Communities close at 12 p.m. for seniors and those not approved for Interim Housing.
