Dear Neighbors & Valued Supporters,
On behalf of Chatham Education Foundation, welcome back to school! The 2023-24 school year marks CEF’s 30th anniversary!
Founded on March 11, 1994, as a New Jersey not-for-profit corporation “specifically for the purpose of providing grants to the primary and secondary schools operated by SDOC, to further its educational activities,” CEF operates independently of the Board of Education, parent-teacher organizations, and booster groups. CEF supports programs and initiatives that would not otherwise be funded through the traditional SDOC budget.
Over the last 30 years, CEF has funded over $1.7 million in grants directly to SDOC that bring innovation to our schools. In addition to annual grant funding of about $100,000, CEF established an endowment to help produce a reliable stream of income that will bring increased stability and longevity to grant funding.
In the coming months, we'll share how CEF has impacted SDOC students, schools and teachers over the last three decades. We'll talk about the ways you can celebrate with us, get involved, and make an impact. We’ll also look ahead to the possibilities in the next 30 years.
Through the generosity of our 650+ donors, CEF can help the SDOC fund grants that enhance classroom learning and promote innovation. You can learn more about the grants that we award by visiting www.chathamedfoundation.org.
We are grateful for your support and look forward to working together so that our schools continue to be a source of pride for our community for the next 30 years and beyond!
Sincerely,
Laura Bojanowski
