Welcome back from spring break, Spartans! It’s time to get back into the groove of things!

Cast your vote for your incoming 2022-2023 A.S. Board of Directors from Monday to Thursday next week, April 11 to 14. Get to know your candidates at upcoming election events. More details at sjsu.edu/as/vote.

Applications to the A.S. Scholarship Program are now open! A total of $93,250 will be awarded in academic year 2022-2023. Make sure to apply by May 1st at sjsu.edu/faso/types-of-aid/scholarships.

The 11th Annual Student Leadership Gala is a collaboration among organizations within the SJSU Division of Student Affairs to recognize and celebrate outstanding leadership. The gala will be on Tuesday, May 3rd, from 5-6:30pm, in the Diaz Compean Student Union Ballroom. Everyone is welcome.

Spartan Talks with Tabitha Brown

Tabitha Brown satisfies the hunger of millions with her unique approach to veganism and her wholesome, comedic personality. She is a home base for learning new recipes, acquiring imparted wisdom and enjoying a good laugh. MOVIE NIGHT AT THE GARDEN: GUERILLA GARDENING

Learn the concept of returning power to the people through guerilla gardening. We will be watching an inspiring film about the concept and then we will be putting our knowledge to action outside the garden under the cloak of night.
 
EARTH WEEK: STORYTELLING AT THE GARDEN

Come listen to stories from community members in San Jose about environmental change over their lifetimes. Share experiences and stories with the community.
Poetry, Performance, and Protesting with Plants
Wednesday, April 6, 5-10PM
Campus Community Garden

Come experience two featured poets & poetry busking, a student open mic session, learn about Guerilla Gardening and make seed balls with garden staff, and Guerilla Planting cacti on San Salvador St. outside the garden.

Transportation Solutions
Happy Earth Month, Spartans! This month has some very special events centered around our Earth and helping keep it safe! 

Commuter Appreciation Week: April 11-14
Join us for a week full of events to appreciate our commuter students. The events include an outdoor family movie night (4/12), a FREE mini farmers market (4/13), and a Throwback Thursday event (4/14) where you can get free food, lounge in a hammock, and play some fun games! 

Transit Selfie Competition: April 8-22
Post a selfie of you on transit and be entered in a drawing to get a gift bag that includes a $50 Amazon gift card! Post your transit selfie and tag us @ts_sjsu and you will be entered! *Please make it apparent and clear that you are on transit or else your entry may not be counted. You can even hold up your transit pass in the picture as well. Maximum 5 entries! Keep an eye on our social media on Friday to get more of the details! 

We hope to see you out at these events! They are sure to be a great time and you get to learn more about different resources that contribute to saving our Earth!

SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION FAIR

Earth Day is on 04/20! Presented by Transportation Solutions and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the fair will have information on sustainable programs, resources and options offered by Transportation Solutions, campus organizations, and community partners.
