Change to Meal distributions Days – Information and FAQ:

Starting Wednesday, February 3, meals will be distributed on Wednesdays and Fridays. Pick up times will stay the same from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Middle School locations (Redmond MS, Inglewood MS, Timberline MS, Rose Hill MS, Finn Hill MS, Kamiakin MS). Pickup times will remain the same for the delivery locations with the exception of Rush and Mead (see website for details: https://www.lwsd.org/pathway-forward/grab-go-student-meals

Why are we changing the meal distribution days?
Meal distribution days were changed proactively to ensure that all students will continue to have access to 7 free lunches and breakfasts each week as we transition to in person learning.  Keeping distribution on Tuesday would mean that students with in-person classes on Tuesday and/or Friday would not be able to pick up meal packs for the full week.  Changing the distribution day to Wednesday will allow K-1 students to receive a 3-day meal pack (for Wednesday and the weekend) and hybrid students to receive a 5-day meal pack (3 days of remote learning and 2 days for the weekend). Fully remote learners can pick up a 5-day meal pack on Wednesday and a 2-day meal pack on Friday.

How will each learning model receive a full week of meals?
K-1 In Person: Take home meals (4 days - M,T,TH,F)
Pick up 3-day meal pack on Wednesday

Hybrid Take home meals for in-person days (2 days/week)
(remote/in person) Pick up 5-day meal pack on Wednesday

Full Remote/Other Pick up 5-day meal pack on Wednesday
Pick up 2-day meal pack on Friday

Will families still need to Preorder meals?
Families still need to preorder meals on the LWSD website for the grab and go meals that are picked up on Wednesday and Friday. https://www.lwsd.org/pathway-forward/grab-go-student-meals. Families will not need to pre-order for in-person days.
The PTA is recruiting parent volunteers for next year’s PTA Executive board. The commitment requires attendance at monthly board meetings, and performance of specific duties assigned to your designated board position. Don’t worry, you’ll have lots of guidance and assistance from an energetic and supportive group of other parent volunteers who already sit on the board. Now, more than ever, we need help from parents who want to enrich the lives of all children attending Norman Rockwell Elementary.  If you’re interested in joining a group of fun and dedicated parents, please email Denice at events@normanrockwellpta.org
The PTA is planning our next exiting virtual event for the kiddos - a "Game Night" where students can join their friends in a handful of different "rooms" for a variety of games. We will need 1-2 volunteers per grade to pull this off. We are tentatively planning the event on March 5th from 5 -7pm. We will only be able to host the event if we can recruit at least 10 parent volunteers. The rooms will feature games such as trivia, bingo, hangman, etc. You don't need any specific technical knowledge or game aptitude - just a willingness to log onto Teams and help supervise the kids who are playing. If you're able to help with this fun event, please email Denice at events@normanrockwellpta.org.
Rockwell Families -
please join our upcoming yearbook picture contest! Did you know that your PTA is working hard to put together a yearbook for families, even in the time of remote learning? As difficult and strange as this year has been, we want families to have something to remember the '20/'21 school year. We've been collecting pictures from families to include in the yearbook, but know that we're still missing submissions from many, many families. Please join our upcoming contest on Facebook as we collect pictures of students in their remote learning spaces. The contest will run from Monday, February 22nd through Sunday, February 28th. At any point during that week, post a picture of your kiddo in their workspace on Norman Rockwell PTA's Facebook page. We'll include all submissions in the final yearbook. As well, the Facebook picture with the most engagement will win a special prize!

If you'd like to send additional pictures to be included in the yearbook (instead of, or in addition to, participating with the FB contest) please email the photos to: yearbookphotos@normanrockwellpta.org. We'd love to see photos of your kiddos from class parties, virtual dances, working on science experiments or art projects, etc.

Photos Needed! Fill the Yearbook with Candid Shots!
Help us fill the yearbook with your photos!
We're still collecting photos from Dress-to-Impress Day, Crazy Hair Day, Sports Day & Pajama Day!
