Fall College Night

Tuesday, August 29th @ 6:30pm

Marshall Auditorium



Hear Marshall staff and a guest speaker from college admissions discuss the major parts of the college search and application process, including two and four-year colleges. We’ll also have counselor breakout groups so you can meet your student’s counselor and ask questions.


College Essay Help for Seniors – starts in person Monday, 9/11 at 3 PM, and every Monday after that through December. Online help is available starting 9/5 – look for a Google form the week before to request help.


NOVA (Northern Virginia Community College) Advising – GCM has its own adviser from NOVA, who has visited several times this year. Contact information will be sent in the next few weeks, and you can visit the College and Career Center with your questions.


Financial Aid & Scholarships – There will be a Financial Aid Night in December after some of the new FAFSA changes are announced. Before that, contact the College Career Center for help.


Juniors – Junior Focus Day will be April 11, 2024 (in school, students only). Juniors will pick a series of college and career sessions to help them along their path.


All Grades – There will be a winter Zoom session on SAT/ACT/PSAT information and a GCM Spring College & Career Zoom.


Student Jobs – Students can check the hallway walls outside room A112 for job postings and online at the College Career Center Schoology course.


All College & Career Info and Resources – by the end of next week, our public website for parents and the student’s Schoology course will be updated with information on all college and career areas.
