King's University College Students' Council (KUCSC) is hosting a Welcome Back Week for all students. There will be a Resource Fair with Marble Slab Ice Cream, a Meet Your Profs Social, meet your KAMP mentor and more. September 12-16.

Intramurals Are Back at King's
King’s is now offering volleyball (co-ed), spike ball (co-ed), soccer (co-ed) and Flag Football (King’s Cobras) for female and non-binary folks. Sign-up until September 20 online or at the athletics booth in the King Student Life Centre in person.

Academic Advising Office: Add/Drop Helpline
Need to speak with Academic Advising during the add/drop period? The Academic Advising Office will run its Add/Drop Helpline until September 16. From 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. all staff in the Advising Office will be answering phones to address your questions. You can reach them at 519-518-2907. The front office window will be open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for general inquiries. You may call the registration number at 519-433-3491 ext. 4999 with more straightforward help with adding, dropping and swapping courses.
Beginning September 19, the Advising Office will be offering appointments as well as drop-in hours.

Work Study Program - Apply Today!
Are you seeking a flexible employment opportunity while studying at King’s? You can lessen your debt load while receiving valuable job training and experience to build your skill-set. The Work Study program offers students the opportunity to work flexible hours on campus in jobs that accommodate their schedules. Applications are open and you are able to work up to 15 hours per week, up to a maximum of 165 hours or $2574.00 (whichever maximum you reach first).

Healing Fire with Chief Cadmus Delorme
Local elders, Dan and Mary Lou Smoke of the Oneida Nation will gather our community to welcome Chief Cadmus Delorme of the Cowessess First Nation. There will be a healing fire and a community lunch of Indigenous food. This community gathering precedes his talk at the President's Lecture.

Veritas Series: The President's Lecture
Join us for the President's Lecture with Chief Cadmus Delorme of the Cowessess First Nation who will speak on Truth and Reconciliation: What We Inherited and Actions We All Must Take. Cowessess made headlines last year as the first First Nations community to sign an agreement with Ottawa that returns jurisdiction over children in care to the community.
September 15 at 7 p.m. in the Kenny Theatre. Registration is required.

This workshop will be facilitated by KAMP Mentors and will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of goal development in the university setting, learn about campus resources that can help you to achieve and follow through on your goals, and set goals of your own.

King's is excited to welcome alumni, students, family, and friends back to campus for this year's Homecoming.
Western Mustangs vs Waterloo Warriors (Homecoming Game)
Register by September 12 to ensure King's can cheer on the team from a private VIP tent in the Mustang Corral. Free parking will be available at King's, and shuttle transportation to and from TD Stadium will be available for ticket holders. Tickets: $35 per person, cash bar on site.
BBQ and King's Fest
Check out the new King’s land at Huron and Waterloo Streets, and enjoy a barbecue and fun activities for everyone. The kids' zone will have games, activities and face-painting to amuse all the little ones, and there will be plenty for the adults too!

The King’s Job Shadow Program matches students with employer partners in the City of London and provides an opportunity to shadow a professional in a role of interest for one day. The Job Shadow Program is open to all King's students regardless of program or year of study. Placements take place during Fall and Winter Reading Weeks to avoid any conflicts with class schedules.

COVID-19 Screening
In keeping with changing regulations and recommendations from the province, Western encourages everyone who comes to campus, including affiliate campuses, to complete the province's COVID-19 self-assessment. Current public health guidelines in Ontario do not require you to isolate, however you should self-monitor for symptoms.

Join us for Sunday Eucharist
Masses are offered on Sundays at 10 a.m. in "The Chapel" at Windermere on the Mount (1486 Richmond Street). The 5 p.m. Mass resumes on Sunday, September 11, followed by a community meal in the parish hall.
PLEASE NOTE: Windermere on the Mount Retirement Residence continues to require screening and masking of all visitors. Until that changes, access to Christ the King University Parish will remain limited to the side entrance.
Resumption of Daily Mass: We will be resuming daily Mass on Tuesdays at 7 p.m in “The Chapel” at Windermere on the Mount and Wednesdays through Fridays at 12 noon in Christ the King Chapel in Wemple Building beginning September 13.
Prayer with the Songs of Taizé: Resumes on Monday, September 12 at 7 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel in Wemple. The 45-minute prayer consists of meditative chants, scripture, intercessions, and moments of rich silence in candlelight before the icon of the cross. The prayer originates from the Christian ecumenical monastic community of Taizé, a tiny village in eastern France. You are warmly invited to take part in this beautiful prayer experience, especially if it is your first time. This prayer takes once a month and the schedule can be found here.
