Welcome Back and Happy New Year!
Hybrid Learning Resumes January 11
We hope everyone has had a safe and healthy start to the new year. As we embark upon new beginnings, we will continue to evaluate our status of Hybrid and Remote Learning.

On Monday, January 11th, all Hybrid Cohort A students in grades PK-12, including special programs, will return to In-Person Learning with Hybrid Cohort B students returning on Thursday, January 14th to In-Person Learning. For more information about Hybrid Learning, please visit our website.
Health & Safety Enhancements

We take the health and safety of our students and our employees very seriously and will be closely monitoring each of our buildings as students and staff return to Hybrid Learning. In order to ensure our schools are safe, we have added to our existing protective measures by implementing additional health and safety protocols in all of our schools.
The 2021-2022 School Choice application period for grades 1-12 ends January 13, 2021. School Choice is designed to allow a parent to enroll his or her child in a public school in any school district independent of the student’s area of residence.

Guadalupe Castaneda
Guadalupe Castaneda, a senior at Newark High School, is heading to Princeton University on a full scholarship. Guadalupe is the first person in her immediate family to finish elementary school. Congrats Guadalupe!
Staff at Oberle Elementary raised more than $1,000 to distribute over 200 new coats, as well as hats, gloves, scarves, boots and face masks to students and families ahead of the holidays. Kudos Oberle!
Newark High School Student - Hope McElveen - Christmas Ornament
Hope McElveen, a senior at Newark High School, designed a Christmas tree ornament that represented Delaware in the 2020 National Christmas Tree display in the President’s Park around the White House. Congratulations Hope!
The Bancroft School Wins Fall Stock Marketing Game - Michelle Suchyj
The Bancroft School fourth-graders took first place in the State of Delaware Stock Market Game for the Elementary Category run by the University of Delaware. Congrats to Ms. Suchyj and her 4th-grade class! 
Starting Monday, January 11, curbside meal pickup hours will change to Monday-Friday, 10 AM - 11 AM. Each meal will contain a lunch for the day and breakfast for the next day. Please visit www.christinak12.org/schoolmeals for a complete list of curbside, evening curbside, and mobile meal sites.

The New Castle County Transition Team invites Christina families to attend a Social Security and Benefits Workshop on Thursday, January 14, 6:30-8:30 PM.
FREE COVID Testing for Christina Staff, Students & Families
Christina School District will host three FREE COVID-19 testing events on January 13 and 20 at Kirk Middle School and January 27 at the Bancroft School.

Board of Education Meeting: Public Session - January 12
Following the Executive Session, the Board of Education will meet in Regular Session at 7:00 p.m. and individuals can join the meeting/webinar.
