Dear Students,

Welcome back from spring break! I recognize that the circumstances are far different than any of us imagined a few months ago, yet we are ready to make the best of them and to continue to support and engage you in new and different ways.

I am writing to advise you of some of the immediate ways you can connect with key services, offices and programs, as well as of the processes in place to maintain the health and safety of our community.

Accessibility Resource Center

The Accessibility Resource Center has added a student resource tab ( https://www.wpunj.edu/accessibilityresourcecenter/arc-covid-19-information-for-students ) and a Faculty Resources tab

( https://www.wpunj.edu/accessibilityresourcecenter/covid-19-faculty-info ) to provide guidance on utilizing services.

Athletics

Although the spring sports season is cancelled, the department continues to use their social media platforms to engage student athletes, fans and family members with features, trivia, photo sharing and more. 

Campus Activities, Services and Leadership (CASL)

CASL is continuing to support specific groups remotely, as well as offer new and different ways to complete digital badges and exploring ways for students to remain engaged in service activities remotely. The following platforms will provide current information and evolve over time.


Career Development

  • Appointments for career counseling, resume/cover letter reviews, interview preparation, job search assistance, graduate school assistance and interest assessments will be available via phone, email, MS Team (Skype, Zoom, etc.). Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and the Black Cultural Center (BCC)

  • The Center for Diversity & Inclusion will provide four webinar experiences during common hour beginning Thursday, April 9 through April 30. Webinar details will be posted on the university calendar.
  • The reveal of the “I Am William Paterson” photo campaign, Asian Heritage Awareness Campaign, Genocide Awareness Campaign, Inspirational Leaders Campaign and much more will be accessible on the following Instagram accounts: @wpunj_CDI and @wpunj_BCC

Counseling, Health and Wellness Center (CHWC)

  • CHWC is providing services via Telehealth using phone and Microsoft teams. Patients may call 973-720-2257 for counseling appointments and 2360 for health appointments
  • Students can also schedule health visits through the student health portal. 
  • 24-hour on-call emergency counseling service is still available.

Hospitality Services

  • To make a request or chat with a Hospitality Services staff member https://www.wpunj.edu/hospitality/
  • Requests for replacement ID card – option to choose pick up or mail delivery https://www.wpunj.edu/hospitality/id-cards.html
  • The Bookstore is closed to the public but will fulfill orders and purchases remotely and provide free delivery. You can learn more about this and other free and discounted offerings at https://www.bkstr.com/williampatersonstore/home#content
  • Dining Services will provide a limited takeout meal plan for current residents on meal plans. The Office of Residence Life is providing continuing residents with meal plan and other relevant information in a separate communication.

Recreational Services

Recreational Services is working to provide at-home fitness and wellness tips along with planning virtual workshops to support overall wellbeing. In addition we will be offering online gaming competitions and are looking to run interactive games and contests for students.

Residence Life

The Office of Residence Life continues to manage the residence halls, including conducting ongoing move-outs, providing services and support for students remaining in residence, and conducting the room assignment process for the fall.

Students are encouraged to email athome@wpunj.edu or their RD if they have questions about move-out, room selection or other housing related questions.
