Welcome Message
What is the Parents Association?
Who are we?
Welcome Back to School!

Dear St. Stephen of Hungary Families, Teachers and Staff,

Welcome back, everyone!

We hope you all had a wonderful summer and the start to the school year has been a great success!  We are thrilled to meet you all at Back to School Night but wanted to first take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about the role of The Parents Association (PA) at Saint Stephen of Hungary School (SSHS) and our Executive Board.

The PA strives to maintain our strong sense of community and will continue to create connections with our new SSHS families. The PA is committed to providing our students, staff and faculty with the enriching activities we look forward to each year. We are here to answer any questions you may have and to support everyone in our community. With that, we would like to welcome all of our new families to SSHS.We are looking forward to meeting you and encourage you to attend our first PA Meeting which will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30pm in the School Auditorium.

In order to stay up to date with all the information from the PA, we encourage you to subscribe to the PA Page on the school website and the PA Remind text system, as well as following our school on Facebook and Instagram.

Please join us in welcoming our new Board Member, Jaqueline Wong. Jackie will be our new Events Board Chair and we are thrilled to have her as a part of the team.

At this point all families should have received an email from their class representative(s). The class representative(s) are assigned to the entire grade and not to a particular class, as a result both classes will receive the same information. Please see below for a list of your 2022-2023 class representative(s).

Below you will also find our bios along with our personal contact information. If you have any questions or suggestions please don't hesitate to reach out to any one of us at anytime!

We are looking forward to another amazing school year on East 82nd Street!

Best,

The PA Executive Board

What is the St. Stephen of Hungary Parents Association?

The SSHS Parents Association (PA) is a non-profit volunteer organization which serves to support the students, teachers and staff at St. Stephen of Hungary School.

PA meetings are typically held the 1st Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome to come listen and take part in discussions at meetings. Every parent/guardian of a SSHS student is a member of the PA.  Attending meetings are a great way to get to know fellow parents, learn and talk about happenings at and around the school, and to hear updates from administrators and teachers.

In addition to hosting monthly meetings, the PA provides support to families and staff experiencing significant life events, takes part in various community service projects and of course, plans many fun events for our students and staff throughout the school year.

Who Are We?
Lisa D'Ambrosio / President

My husband, Brian, and I have lived on the Upper East Side for over 15 years. This is our 10th year as members of the SSHS Community. We have three children, Andrew (6th grade), Anna (3rd grade), and Alexander (1st grade). I have served as a class rep, and have chaired the Annual Auction for the past four years. This is my third year on the PA Executive Board and my second year as PA President.

Prior to having children I was an accountant at a public accounting firm and then at Saks Fifth Avenue. I look forward to another year working with our incredible PA Board members, our terrific administration and all of the wonderful families that make our school so special.

Lauren Bernhard / Vice President

This is the start of our eighth year at St. Stephen. My husband, Kyle, and I have two daughters; Lillian is in fifth grade this year and Isla is in third grade.

I was born and raised on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan. Prior to having children, I was a Special Education teacher. I was a class rep for two years, and for the past three years I have been on the PA Board. For two years I lead Enrichment events and this is my second year as PA Vice President. I am looking forward to another great year on the board.

Rosa Alaimo-Quinn / Finance Chair

My husband, Kevin, and I have twin fifth graders, Carolina and Kayleigh. This is our family's eighth year as part of the SSHS Community and my fifth year as Finance Chair. I am also a member of the golf committee (be sure to sign up for our outing on October 18th). We are native New Yorkers and UES residents for over 20 years.

In addition to my PA duties, I am Chief of Staff for Integrity Square LLC, a boutique investment banking firm that focuses on the Health, Active Lifestyle and Outdoor ("HALO") sector.

Casey Husveth / Communications Chair

This is our family's 6th year at St. Stephen of Hungary. My husband, Ted, and I have called New York City home for almost 20 years. We have three children, Maeve (3rd Grade), Penny (K) and our one year old, Henry. This is my second year as Communications Chair on the PA Board.

Prior to having children I worked in finance and then went on to get a degree in nursing and have been a RN for the past 10 years. As Communications Chair I look forward to keeping families informed of all the great events the PA has planned for our wonderful St. Stephen students and staff.

Katie Jacob / Student Enrichment, Curriculum & Admin Support Chair

This is the start of our family's 6th year at St. Stephen. My husband, Matt, and I moved from New Orleans to New York in 2006. We have two children at St. Stephen, Ella is in 5th grade and Cooper is in 3rd grade.

In addition to my PA role, I work as a Physical Therapist at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Over the past few years I have enjoyed volunteering for many PA events and this will be my second year on the Board. From the moment we stepped into St. Stephen it has felt like home and I look forward to serving our school community again this year.

Patricia Werner / Community Support Chair

My husband and I are the proud parents of 6th grader, Danny Miller. My family joined St. Stephen ten years ago and I have served many different roles in the community, including as a member of the Capital Campaign and Golf Outing Committees, co-chair of the Mother/Son Event, Parish Council, and as a class rep.

Outside of school, I’m an attorney in the IP group at Kelley, Drye, & Warren LLP. This is my second year on the PA Board and I’m looking forward to working with the Board and school community to make this another successful year at St. Stephen.
