Again! 2020 Blue Ribbon
School of Excellence Award!
Dear St. Paul Parents,

I hope you enjoyed your summer!  It is hard to believe that we are just a few weeks away to the start of school. Soon the children will be excited to be back and ready to learn. There have been many great things happening during the past two months. Our Reopening Task Force quickly jumped in to collaborate and creatively plan our reopening strategy for the new school year. They are unbelievably committed to providing the best education in a safe environment for our students. I especially want to thank Mike Porretta who invested a substantial amount of time putting together all the class schedules and helping teachers with any specific problems related to those schedules.

I am also excited to announce St. Paul School is recognized again as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Using standards of excellence evidenced by student achievement measures, the U.S. Department of Education honors high-performing schools with this award. Our school also received this distinction in 2013.

New teaching assignments:

  • Mrs. Nandee Hocker will transition to 3rd grade from 1st grade.
  • Mrs. Kate Davison will transition to 1st grade from Kindergarten.
  • Mrs. Marcine Power will transition to 5th/6th math from 7th/8th grade math.
  • Please welcome Mrs. Carli Saliba who will be teaching 7th/8th grade math.
  • Please welcome Miss Alli Hart who will be teaching kindergarten.

Here are a few reminders for the beginning of the year:

  • Students who purchased school supplies via PAC will find their items in their classrooms on the first day of school. Remote students may pick up their PAC-purchased supplies in the main office at a date to be determined. Due to limited storage space at school for bulk supplies, please watch for details, based on grade levels, regarding the amount of supplies to keep at school.

  • Your child will need to wear a mask each day. We have purchased lanyards, so when students take off their mask to eat or take a break, the mask will remain on the lanyard.

  • We welcome you to our virtual Parent Question and Answer Live Session held twice on Thursday, August 20, at 1:00 pm for grades K-4 and 2:00 pm for grades 5-8. Please watch for details regarding how to join in the live Q & A session.

  • We are having a staggered start the first week of school starting Monday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3. All students will report to school on Friday, September 4. Group “A” attends Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept 4. Group “B” attends Sept. 2, Sept. 3, and Sept 4. Watch for details to come regarding your child's group assignment.

God bless you and please stay safe,
Dr. Carol Walsh
