Welcome Cantor Harriet Dunkerley
Dear TBC Community:
Please join TBC's lay leadership team in welcoming Cantor Harriet Dunkerley to our TBC family as Cantor and Educator.

Cantor Dunkerley remarked, "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the TBC family! I look forward to dreaming together and working with our leadership to put those dreams into action, to building relationships and creat ing new
and lasting bonds with all the members of our dynamic and warm community." She added, " My goal for our religious school is to provide a nurturing, joyful and enriching school experience that provides limitless opportunities for our students to embrace their Judaism while learning together and building lasting relationships to Torah, each other and community."

Cantor Dunkerley grew up in Annandale, VA and graduated cum laude with honors from Mary Washington College, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in musical theatre with a concentration in vocal performance and acting. She holds a master's degree in Sacred  Music from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion and was ordained in May 2019.

While at HUC-JIR, she served as cantorial intern for congregations in Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut. Her Cantorate has also been deeply impacted by the unit of Clinical Pastoral Education she completed at St. Luke's - Mt. Sinai West in Manhattan, her learning as an ARZA fellow at HUC-JIR, her participation in Hazon's Jewish Food Conference, her explorations into Jewish Mystical traditions and her educational travel to underserved communities in Lithuania, the Republic of Georgia, Azerbaijan and the West Bank with Encounter and JDC-Entwine through their partnerships with HUC-JIR.

Cantor Dunkerley, her husband John, a professional musician, and their dancing daughter Rosella will be moving to the area this summer from Rockland County.

Over the summer, we will be arranging "meet and greets" via Zoom  - or if we are able, small group in-person get togethers (masks and social distancing will be required) to give our congregants and Cantor Dunkerley the opportunity to get to know one another.
