Learn More About Christina Sanchez, MACFT
How did you learn about the Green House?

I learned about the Green House from professors and classmates in my Couple & Family Therapy graduate program at Adler University.

What drew you to the Green House?

I was drawn to the Green House program because of its mission to aid in fellows development of clinical competence when working with clients exploring identity, sex, sexuality and gender. I also appreciated their openness to clinicians of all levels of experience and prior knowledge.

What are you hoping to gain by being in the Green House and how do you imagine it will impact your future?

I am hoping to gain more confidence in my therapeutic presence by expanding on my knowledge of LGBT+ and Kink populations and learning new affirming methods of working with clients of these identities. I anticipate the Green House program will impact my future by preparing me to advocate for clients with similar needs in other less specialized therapeutic settings.

In the short amount of time, since you joined the Green House, what has surprised you most and why?

In the few weeks that I have been a part of Green House, I have been pleasantly surprised at how active my cohort-mates are towards building connections and trust between us and staff. I anticipated more hesitation communicating with one another considering the variety of experience working in the field and diversity in age.

Anything else professionally that you are particularly looking forward to this year?

Professionally, I am also looking forward to acquiring my ALMFT license and preparing to pass my qualifying exam for permanent licensure.
