Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
It is a joy to welcome our students and families to the 2026-2027 academic year at Crean Lutheran High School. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate Crean Lutheran’s 20th year of ministry. For two decades, the Lord has sustained and blessed Crean Lutheran as it has carried out its mission of Proclaiming Jesus Christ through Excellence in Education. As we give thanks for all that has come before us, we also look forward to the relationships, growth, accomplishments, and opportunities the Lord has prepared for the year ahead!
Our theme verse for this year (Psalm 100:5) is fitting as we commemorate 20 years of ministry. While students have graduated, programs have grown, and our campus has continued to change, the goodness, love, and faithfulness of the Lord remain constant. The same Lord who established and sustained this ministry in our early days continues to guide us today. His faithfulness reaches across generations, from those students who first entered the halls of Crean Lutheran to those who call Crean Lutheran home today, as well as those who will follow in the years to come.
We witnessed reminders of the Lord’s goodness throughout the summer. Fifty-one students returned safely from Crean Lutheran’s third mission trip to Alaska, where they led Vacation Bible School in three locations and shared the love of Christ through their words and service. Closer to home, 673 students, including 206 incoming freshmen, completed over 1,100 summer school courses in preparation for the coming year. Our K-8 Summer Youth Camp program welcomed 799 participants who took part in 51 unique camp experiences, including technology, business, entrepreneurship, academics, the arts, community service, and athletics.
In early July, we received outstanding Advanced Placement results. In the 2025-2026 school year, 574 Crean Lutheran students completed 1,468 AP examinations, and nearly half of our student body took at least one AP exam. Our students earned an average pass rate of 92%, and six AP subject areas achieved a 100% pass rate. We praise God for our teachers and their students, as these accomplishments are worthy of celebration and reflect the diligence and perseverance of our students, along with the faithful preparation and care provided by their teachers.
Parents, it is together with you, as partners in ministry and education, that we witness students learn, grow, serve, build confidence, and discover as they foster an increasingly personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a Saints family, we remain firmly committed to providing an environment in which students are known, valued, challenged, encouraged, and supported. Through classroom instruction, worship, athletics, the arts, student activities, counseling, service activities, and daily interactions, we seek to help students grow as, and graduate as Christians, Learners, and Servants. Thank you for entrusting your students to our care and for supporting them through your prayers, encouragement, involvement, and communication.
We pray your students enter this year with courage, curiosity, openness, perseverance, and a willingness to contribute. This approach allows them to become fully involved in campus life, build positive relationships, ask good questions, use the gifts God has given them, seek help when needed, and look for opportunities to serve others. One opportunity to serve others arrives early this academic year with our first mission trip. Students will travel to the Native American community in Bishop, California, from September 24-28. Additional mission opportunities are planned for El Salvador during Easter Break (March 29-April 3) and Alaska from June 12-20. I encourage families to prayerfully consider whether the Lord may be calling their student to participate. Mission trips provide students with meaningful opportunities to grow in faith while experiencing the joy of sharing Christ’s love.
As students return, portions of our campus improvement project will continue into the school year. We are carefully coordinating this work to maintain a safe campus and minimize disruption to classes, activities, and student movement. The current work prepares the foundation for the future relocation of classroom buildings and the creation of a more unified learning area, with the goal of welcoming students into the new space by fall 2027. We appreciate your patience and prayers as this important work continues, and we will endeavor to keep you updated as progress continues.
Due to campus construction and resulting parking limitations, this year’s Back-to-School Night, which takes place on Thursday, September 10, will be reserved for parents and guardians who are new to the Crean Lutheran community, including incoming freshmen and transfer families. We are grateful for your understanding as we work through this temporary challenge. For our returning families, each teacher will provide a brief course introduction video that includes an overview of the class, important expectations, and ways to support student success throughout the year. These videos provide the flexibility to learn about each course at a time that is most convenient for your family, and to revisit the information as needed during the school year. While this format is different from previous years, our commitment to partnering with you in your student's education remains unchanged, and we look forward to another year of working together to support every student's growth and success.
As we begin this new chapter together, may our 20th year be marked by gratitude for the Lord’s faithfulness, joyful commitment to our mission, care for one another, and excellence worthy of Christ. Saints families, welcome to the 2026-2027 school year. We are grateful for your support and look forward to all that the Lord will accomplish in and through this community.
To God be the glory!
In Christ,
Dr. Daniel Moyer
