Welcome Letter from Rev. Joseph A. Meagher
Pastor of St. Antoninus Church
My dear Brothers and Sisters,
Welcome to St. Antoninus Church!
It is our hope that having attended the sacrifice of the Mass (or some other event) at St. Antoninus, you have tasted the sweetness of heavenly worship in a manner that has deepened your faith and caused you to long for more.
Our deepest desire is simply to proclaim that “Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Every ministry or event here is somehow beginning and ending with this. We are passionately Catholic, joyfully charismatic and ethnically rich in diversity.
As the pastor of this wonderfully diverse and dynamically Catholic parish, it is my pleasure to extend this welcome.
Like yourself, I too was once a visitor to St. Antoninus Church, while I was a graduate student at Seton Hall University, just a few miles down South Orange Ave. I used to take the bus or my bicycle to Sunday Mass from my school. It was here that, by God’s grace and with the guidance of the beloved pastor of St. Antoninus, Fr Jim Ferry, that I began to discern a call to the priesthood of Jesus Christ.
On May 31, 1991, I celebrated my first Mass here upon the altar of this beautiful Church. Now, by God’s providence, I am privileged to be the parish priest, the pastor of this beautiful family. Along with my brother priests, Fr. Paul, Fr Albert, Fr Louis and others who reside and minister here, and all the staff — we welcome you!
If you don’t already have a church family, please consider making
St. Antoninus yours. Please call the office 973-623-0258 to find out how to register here.
If you are already an active member of your church, please feel free to come whenever you choose, and be refreshed in the Holy Spirit. The gift of Spirit- filled worship that we enjoy here is not meant to be kept for a select few but to be shared with others. Please take a look at our schedule above.
If you are a Christian but not Catholic or perhaps not sure what you believe, consider coming to an enquiry class we call RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), which happens each week at 4:30pm on Thursdays..
If in the near future you would like to be informed of special events/opportunities of grace here, please leave us your contact information, especially your email. We promise that we will not abuse this means of communication but only use it with discretion.
Please God, we will see you again in the near future.
With warmest regards, in Jesus thru Mary,
Fr. Joseph
