Hello! I am thrilled to join the VA Early Intervention Professional Development team and work within the VA EI community as a whole! I have used the resources created by the VA EI PD team for years – the fact that I now have the opportunity to work with this team is just so exciting! I’m new to this team, but not new to early intervention. I have worked in the field of early childhood intervention since 2001, supporting young children, families, and early childhood educators in urban and suburban systems.

In 2008, I began preparing pre-service early childhood intervention practitioners through Office of Special Education Programs training grants at two DC-based universities, as well as designing and delivering professional learning experiences for in-service EI providers. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I relocated my family from the DC area to Lexington, VA, where I was born and raised. I have spent time settling my two daughters, ages 8 and 10, and their many pets into our new home and building a supportive community in Rockbridge County, as well as learning about EI services in rural areas of Virginia. I am passionate about all things related to young children and families, nature, and community.

The Virginia Early Intervention Professional Development (VEIPD) Center provides free resources (videos, practitioner tools, blog, podcasts, etc) and training opportunities (webinars, modules, learning paths, etc) to support initial and ongoing professional development for early intervention service coordinators, practitioners, faculty, students, and others interested in early intervention.

The development of this resource was sponsored by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (Early Intervention Office) through a contract with the Partnership for People with Disabilities at Virginia Commonwealth University.
