Dear Wonderful Families,
We’ve been busy behind the scenes preparing for the
World Academy Alumni Association’s Annual Silent Auction and Comedy Night Fundraiser. The Alumni Association is a non-profit 501c3 organization whose purpose is to support educational initiatives, provide scholarships and tuition assistance for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend World Academy and to award scholarships to alumni to attend post- secondary programs.
The Alumni Association is currently looking for support from our community as they are in need of sponsorships for the event and donations for their silent auction. If you are able to support this event in any way, please contact the WA Alumni Association President, Scott Dionne at
waalumniassociation@worldacademynh.com, or Lisa Dias, at
ldias@worldacademynh.com.
It promises to be a great night of joy and laughter
featuring comedian, Juston McKinney! With all of the anxiety that is festering in the world today, it will be a gift to have an opportunity to just laugh!! Please join us! You can purchase your tickets online by
clicking here.
Thank you, in advance, and hope to see you there!
Warmly,
Kathy and Lisa for all of us
President and Head of School

Vacation Program Sign-Ups
Our
Vacation Program is a safe and fun option available to any Kindergarten through Grade 8 student (even those who do not regularly attend World Academy) who is looking for a fun alternative during school vacations. This program supplements the days outside of the school calendar so a separate daily rate applies. It is filled with lots of age-appropriate, fun activities for all ages and staffed by our World Academy team. In order for us to properly plan/staff our programs, advanced sign-up is required for the days your child will attend, and there will be no refunds for unused days. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come/first-served basis. Registration will close one week prior to the vacation day or once the spaces are filled.
Don't forget to sign up for the
Spring Break Vacation Days! Spring Break is from April 27-May 1st.

Current CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certification is required for the job and we will help you get those if you are a responsible and strong swimmer!! Contact Lisa Dias at

This year,
the World Academy Alumni Association is celebrating the 40th year anniversary of the founding of World Academy by participating in a donation drive called
"40 for 40"! Since 1980, the school has educated and nurtured over 20,000 students, and we would like to honor that accomplishment by paying tribute to the students, teachers, alumni and special memories from our “World!” We are aiming to attain 40 gifts in honor of the 40 years of excellence by March 13th.
Please consider donating a gift of any amount to the WA Alumni Association
. All gifts designated to the
“40 for 40” will go directly to the WA Alumni Association’s Scholarship Fund to support a quality World Academy education to even more deserving students. Thank you for supporting our 40th anniversary celebration!

Sixth Grade Science, students are studying the physical properties of Matter where they performed a ‘Layering of Liquids’ experiment. Fourth Grade Robotics Classes Learn the Pros and Cons of Space Travel! During Robotics this week, our
Fourth Grade students built, modified and wrote a program to maneuver a Mars Rover. In addition, they researched and presented in a debate-style format the pros and cons of space travel and the benefits or dangers of a manned mission to Mars. This class reinforced the importance of research and data mining key skills needed for students who wish to become an engineer or scientist.

Our
Preschool Fours Funky Monkey students are also blasting off into their month-long unit on Space! The students have been enjoying their new space-themed manipulatives, puzzles, sensory bins and a rocket ship tent with astronaut suits! They each created their own planets using food coloring and shaving cream! The beautiful creations were then named and will be displayed for the Annual Open House in April!

The
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Graders learned about the
Term 3 Elective choices this week! Check out the amazing offerings they can choose from below!
- Art Like the Masters - In this elective, students will be creating pieces that are inspired by famous artists or popular art styles and will use different mediums to complete these pieces.
- Talent Tapping - In this elective, students will practice, polish and perfect their talents for a "Talent Show" at the conclusion of the term with the support of Mrs. Collins.
- Health and Conditioning - This elective is offered to athletes of all levels to help students with balance, coordination, speed, and agility.
- Globetrotting and Problem Solving with Carmen Sandiego - Students will use their geography knowledge to find Carmen Sandiego on a map, visit some of the most prominent landmarks in the world on Google Earth, practice their foreign language skills with characters from the Netflix show, and discover and participate in cultural traditions from across the world.
- How to solve a Rubik's Cube - Explore hints, tips, and solutions with your friends while learning to solve the 2*2 and 3*3 Cube.
- Fractured Fairy Tales Reading and Writing - In Fractured Fairy Tales, students will examine how authors take those lovable stories we know so well and change them with twists and turns to make us laugh, cry, or deep in frightened thought and wondering why. Was the wolf framed? What if the 3 little pigs were actually ninjas? What if Cinderella had a sister that wore loafers and told great anteater jokes?
