Welcome Margaret Poteet
Guest Preacher

We are delighted to welcome Margaret Poteet, as our guest preacher this Sunday, July 21. Margaret is a rising senior at Princeton Theological Seminary. She grew up in Texas and chose to escape the heat by attending Arcadia University in the Philadelphia suburbs for her undergraduate degree. She briefly taught kindergarten and then enjoyed a career as an admissions and financial aid counselor before answering the call to seminary. Margaret participates in the choir program at PTS and serves as the Clerk for the Presbyterian Student Fellowship on campus. She is an avid singer, theater lover, and beach fanatic.

Sunday's readings are-- Genesis 18:1-10 and Luke 10:38-42 , and Margaret's sermon title is, “The Better Part”. Hope to see you at 10:15AM for worship.
Welcome Emma Mistele
Guest Pianist

We are delighted to welcome Emma Mistele, as our guest pianist this Sunday, July 21. Emma is a member of Lamington Church, she sings in the church choir, and is a recent graduate of Bernards High School. Emma has been in love with making music ever since her piano teacher assigned her the theme from Peanuts, "Linus and Lucy," in first grade. Emma participated in the choral program throughout her four years at Bernards High School, as a member of Freshman Chorus and Concert Choir, as a section leader in Madrigals, and as a student accompanist. In Madrigals, she had the opportunities to perform at Princeton University Chapel, Carnegie Hall, and the White House. In 2016, Emma started the Bernards Chamber Players, a chamber music group that has played for church fundraisers (including Basket Day at LPC!) and for the music therapy group at the Matheny School in Peapack.

In the fall, Emma will continue her musical studies as a music major at the University of Pennsylvania. She will focus on growing as a vocal and instrumental musician, but she is also looking forward to exploring her other interests--physics, environmental science, art history, and architecture, to name a few. She looks forward to visiting and contributing to the music community at LPC whenever she is home, as it is very dear to her!

Can You Help?
Air Conditioner Needed

Good news from IHN--We are very excited to hear that Melissa, a former guest at LPC during our IHN overnights, has moved into a new apartment! However, with the temperature sweltering outside, Melissa and her children are finding that they are in need of an air conditioner.

Can you help? Do you have a spare air conditioner, or would you like to donate money to IHN (earmarking it for Melissa's air conditioner)? If you can help, please email or call Meridith Scott at meridith1027@gmail.com, (908) 797-6805. (FYI: At PC Richard, the cost is between $140 and $220 for the type of air conditioner needed here.)

Thank you and stay cool!!

Note: Lamington Church will next host the families from IHN from Sunday, September 15 - Sunday, September 22.

Summer Fun with our Friends from E'port
Saturday, July 27
10:00AM to 4:00PM
Our E'port friends at LPC -- August 2017
Join us on Saturday, July 27 for a fun filled day of summer fun with our friends from E-port! Everyone is welcome—this event is for all ages! We can't wait for this awesome day! It is going to be better than ever!!!

Here's the plan for the day...

10:00 AM - Greet the E'port bus at Bedminster Farm Market, at River Road Park, Bedminster. We will distribute nametags and string backpacks to our guests (thank you Bedminster Township!). They will divide up into groups of five/six children with at least one counselor/leader from Lamington. Everyone will get a scavenger hunt list of questions, which can be answered by each of the farm market vendors. Each group will also get a shopping list of fruits/vegetables to be bought and prepared for lunch back at Lamington. Money for grocery items will be provided.

11:15 AM - Caravan to Lamington.  The younger children will plant seeds in the Lamington Giving Garden with Pam and Dave Smith. The older children will wash and chop vegetables for salad, and peaches (to top off the ice cream for dessert). Pizza will be brought in for our guests (thank you Lynn!) for lunch with our delicious fresh salad. Young children will be escorted back to Lamington after they plant seeds. After lunch and cleanup, all will change into bathing suits.

12:45 PM - Caravan to Christie Whitman’s Farm in Oldwick. We will get to check out Christie's kitchen garden! Swim and play yard games for the afternoon until 4:00 PM, eat fresh watermelon, dry off, and head home!

NOTE: Lunch will be provided for our guests and Lamington counselors. We are in need of more Lamington counselors to lead pool activities and yard games. Bring a hat, sunscreen, bathing suit, and towel. This will be a cell phone-free day except for taking pictures, and coordinating rides.

Please contact Chris Smith with questions, to RSVP, and to see how you can help: smitpvil@comcast.net / (908) 208-0233 . Hope you will plan to join us!
