I am pleased to announce that Mr. Tyler Mavity will join LNC Middle School as our new assistant principal beginning June 14. Mr. Mavity comes to us from Myers Park High School where he served as dean of students. Prior to that, Mr. Mavity taught AP level psychology and social studies as well as interacted with his students beyond the classroom as a head basketball coach. Mr. Mavity earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master's degree in school administration from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He plans to begin working toward his Doctorate in educational leadership this fall. Mr. Mavity is brimming with energy and enthusiasm for LNC and his new role and is looking forward to meeting his middle school students in August. Here is an introduction from Mr. Mavity himself.
